
From early morning, the red flags with yellow stars and bright festival flags created a bustling festive atmosphere. At Khanh Yen 1 Lake area, the sound of drums and cheers filled the air. The opening match was the men's volleyball match with strong, decisive plays that made the audience burst into applause many times. On the adjacent field, the female athletes played volleyball, creating an atmosphere that was both exciting and friendly.

Equally attractive is pole pushing - a traditional sport that demonstrates the martial spirit of the mountain people. With more than 50 athletes in many weight classes, the fierce competitions clearly demonstrated strength, endurance and martial spirit.
Athlete La Manh Huan (Ban Ma village) shared: "I am very happy that the commune organizes a festival so that people have the opportunity to exercise and participate in sports."
One of the most anticipated sports is crossbow shooting. The image of athletes in traditional costumes, strong hands pulling the bowstring, arrows flying into the target amidst cheers and encouragement, vividly recreates the cultural features associated with the working and hunting life of the highland people.

Athlete Ha Duc Mang (Na Trang village) said: "I practice regularly and am very excited to participate in crossbow shooting at the festival. This is also an opportunity to exchange and learn between villages."
In particular, the traditional game of “mac le” brought laughter to both teenagers and children. The nimble movements and witty fights evoked childhood memories, making the festival atmosphere even warmer and more bustling.



The 2025 Van Ban Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival gathered more than 300 athletes competing in the following sports: men's volleyball, women's volleyball, stick pushing, tug of war, crossbow shooting and many folk games. All teams were well prepared, had a noble sportsmanship, and received enthusiastic support from the majority of people.
Mr. Hau Seo Sa - Head of Nam Co village said: "We have established a cluster of 4 villages to practice and compete together. The atmosphere is very exciting, the people who came to cheer were very enthusiastic" .
Modern sports mixed with folk games not only bring joy and excitement, but also arouse national pride, adding motivation for the Party Committee and people of Van Ban commune to be confident on the path of innovation and development. The 2025 Cultural - Sports Festival of Ethnic Groups of Van Ban commune will take place on August 29 and 30, 2025 with many unique and attractive activities.
