More than 400 businesses attend Gia Lai province investment promotion conference

DNVN - On August 29, in Pleiku ward, Gia Lai province, an investment promotion conference was held in 2025 with the participation of more than 400 domestic and foreign enterprises and investors, along with representatives of international organizations and economic experts.

In his opening speech, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that this is an important event to concretize the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; at the same time, bringing Gia Lai closer to the business community and investors to turn potential and advantages into reality.

With a strategic location in the center of the East-West and North-South axes, Gia Lai is considered a “bridge” between the Central Coast, the Central Highlands and the Mekong sub-region. The province has a rich ecosystem, a long coastline, international borders, and potential for high-tech agriculture , renewable energy, industry and logistics.

In the 2026–2030 period, Gia Lai aims for rapid and sustainable development based on science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and green transformation. The province aims to become a center for industry, high-tech agriculture, services, tourism, artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor industry, with a target of double-digit economic growth.

To realize the goal, the province has identified 5 growth pillars and 3 strategic breakthroughs: building a creative government, improving competitiveness; developing science and technology, innovation; building specific mechanisms and policies; developing high-quality human resources; and making breakthroughs in transport infrastructure, industry, logistics and digital infrastructure.

Gia Lai has synchronously prepared both physical and digital infrastructure to welcome investment capital. Regarding transportation, the province has an important national highway network connecting the North - South and East - West, especially the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway (125 km) expected to start construction in October 2025, promising to become a new "blood vessel" connecting seaports, border gates and airports.

Regarding aviation, Gia Lai is one of the few localities with two airports (Pleiku and Phu Cat). In particular, the project of runway No. 2 at Phu Cat Airport is being implemented, aiming to become a modern international port. The province also has the seaport and Le Thanh international border gate, creating a complete logistics system.

In parallel, Gia Lai owns 2 economic zones, 24 industrial parks with more than 9,000 hectares and nearly 100 industrial clusters. This is a favorable condition for deep processing projects, expanding production, forming value chains associated with domestic and foreign markets.

The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee suggested areas of strength to attract businesses and investors, such as: agricultural, forestry and fishery processing industry; high-tech industry, AI, semiconductor chips; renewable energy and green industry; smart logistics; eco-tourism, resorts, community culture and international events.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan also said that Gia Lai is aiming to form a regional renewable energy center, build a specialized high-tech agricultural area (coffee, pepper, dairy cows, vegetables, medicinal herbs), and convert inefficient crop areas to those with higher economic value. Tourism is also a promising field with an ecosystem combining sea, mountains, forests, indigenous culture and adventure sports, opening up opportunities to develop high-end resorts and international destinations.

The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that the province is committed to accompanying businesses by reviewing and removing difficulties for slow-moving projects, reforming administrative procedures, shortening the time for processing documents, and resolutely withdrawing ineffective projects to give opportunities to capable investors. At the same time, it will prioritize the development of healthcare, education, environmental protection, and building a peaceful and civilized local image.

“Gia Lai also wants businesses to invest in a green, circular direction, commit to progress, not transfer projects and accompany the province in sustainable development and social security,” Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized.

The Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference 2025 not only introduces the potential, advantages and preferential policies, but also serves as a connecting forum for domestic and foreign enterprises to meet, exchange and seek cooperation opportunities. At the conference, there were 10 presentations and speeches from leaders of ministries, economic experts and investors, providing many strategic directions for the investment environment in Vietnam in general and Gia Lai in particular.

With the participation of more than 400 businesses, the conference opened up a vibrant atmosphere of cooperation, affirming Gia Lai's determination to become an attractive destination for investors, contributing to the locality's strong rise in the new development stage.
