Da Nang Free Trade Zone has a scale of about 1,881 hectares arranged in non-contiguous locations, including functional areas: production, logistics; trade - services; digital technology industry, information technology and innovation and other types of functional areas according to the provisions of law.
Building Da Nang Free Trade Zone to become an important link in the global supply chain network
Da Nang Free Trade Zone is planned and developed on the basis of modern infrastructure, synchronizing the fields of production, trade, logistics, technology and high-quality services, aiming to become a regional economic center, playing the role of a strategic growth pole of the Central region and the whole country in the new development context.
The long-term goal is to build the Da Nang Free Trade Zone into an important link in the global supply chain network and the Asia-Pacific region; a production center, an international freight transit hub connected to Lien Chieu port, Da Nang international airport and the East-West economic corridor; contributing to promoting the development of high-tech industry, innovation and digital transformation, actively contributing to the economic restructuring process of the new Da Nang city after merging with Quang Nam province towards sustainability and deep integration.
At the same time, developing the Da Nang Free Trade Zone in conjunction with the International Financial Center in Da Nang city, forming a modern, smart, highly competitive economic ecosystem, creating great spillover, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and internationally in the context of globalization.
Development orientation of the Commercial Area
Da Nang Free Trade Zone will develop into: Production - logistics functional area; Trade - service functional area; Digital technology, information technology and innovation industrial park and other functional areas.
Production - logistics functional area
Da Nang Free Trade Zone develops into a modern manufacturing and logistics center, integrating technical infrastructure and digitalization to improve productivity, efficiency and connectivity with regional and global supply chains. Prioritizing the development of high value-added manufacturing industries and logistics ecosystems such as:
- Manufacturing sector: developing industries applying modern, advanced technology according to the green industry model, biological industry, pharmaceutical chemistry; energy industry, renewable energy; aviation industry and manufacturing other high value-added products.
- Logistics sector: multimodal logistics services; logistics services and related support; other logistics services in a modern direction, applying digital technology and automation, creating high added value, serving production activities in the Free Trade Zone and international transit of goods. Promoting the application of digital technology, smart management in logistics operations and supply chains.
Commercial and service functional area
Da Nang Free Trade Zone forms an international standard commercial and service space, serving trading activities, duty-free business, tourism, resorts, accommodation services; providing business support services, logistics, trade, e-commerce; education, healthcare, entertainment, sports and other types of ancillary services to facilitate the development of knowledge economy and regional connectivity.
Digital technology, information technology and innovation industrial park and other functional areas
Da Nang Free Trade Zone is oriented to develop into a high-tech and innovation center, a place where digital technology application enterprises, research and development centers, creative startups and digital transformation converge, contributing to improving the competitiveness of the country and the region in the global digital economy. Developing new technology fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, big data, cloud computing, internet of things, blockchain; research and development; renewable energy; forming an innovation ecosystem, financial and technology services, startups, training, healthcare, e-commerce and other support services: accounting, legal consulting, arbitration and dispute resolution, providing office space for rent, accommodation services, restaurants, sports services, entertainment services, exhibitions and other related services.
The Decision clearly states that the operations, mechanisms, policies and management organization of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone shall comply with the provisions of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 and relevant legal documents.
