Reward level according to exam level
From January 1, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will increase the reward for students and teachers who win prizes in exams, competitions, and contests organized or sent by the Departmentof Education and Training (DoET) and teachers who have achievements in training and nurturing students who win prizes.
Specifically, students who win prizes in international Olympic competitions in subjects, international science and technology research competitions and equivalents will be awarded: Gold Medal (HCV) or First Prize is 200 million VND; Silver Medal (HCB) or Second Prize is 160 million VND; Bronze Medal (HCĐ) or Third Prize is 120 million VND; Encouragement Prize or Fourth Prize is 50 million VND.
Similar to the above competitions, but at the regional level and equivalent, if you win a prize, you will be awarded the following levels: Gold Medal 120 million VND, Silver Medal 90 million VND, Bronze Medal 75 million VND, encouragement 30 million VND.
For students who win prizes in excellent student competitions, science and technology research competitions and national student startup idea competitions: Gold medal 50 million VND, Silver medal 40 million VND, Bronze medal 30 million VND, encouragement 20 million VND.
Students who win gold medals in excellent student competitions, science and technology research competitions and student start-up idea competitions at the city level will be rewarded with the following levels: 5 million VND for primary school; 10 million VND for middle school (general education and continuing education); and 12 million VND for high school (general education and continuing education).
In national competitions and festivals in the fields of sports, culture and arts, students who win gold medals receive 7.5 million VND, silver medals 5 million VND, bronze medals 3.5 million VND, and encouragement 2 million VND.
For student teams and groups (2 or more members) that win prizes in the above mentioned competitions, contests and festivals, the prize money will be doubled for individuals. Ethnic minority and disabled students who win prizes in the same competitions mentioned above will be awarded 1.5 times the prize money for each competition or festival. In case a student is both an ethnic minority and a disabled person, he/she will receive 2 times the corresponding prize money.
International award winning teacher, highest prize 200 million VND
In this bonus increase, Ho Chi Minh City also stipulates the bonus level for teachers who win prizes in international competitions, including: Gold medal 200 million VND, Silver medal 160 million VND, Bronze medal 120 million VND, and encouragement is 50 million VND.
For prizes in regional competitions: Gold medal is 120 million VND, Silver medal is 90 million VND, Bronze medal is 75 million VND, and consolation prize is 30 million VND. For prizes in national competitions: Gold medal is 50 million VND, Silver medal is 40 million VND, Bronze medal is 30 million VND, and consolation prize is 20 million VND. For prizes in city-level competitions, Gold medal is 12 million VND.
In addition, if a team or group of teachers (2 or more members) wins a prize in a teacher competition, the prize money will be twice that of an individual.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also regulates the level of expenditure for teachers who have achieved achievements in training and nurturing students and trainees who won prizes in exams. Specifically, teachers who directly train and nurture students and trainees who won prizes will receive 70% of the incentive level according to the prize of the student and trainee; and the collective of teachers participating in the training will receive 30% of the incentive level of teachers who directly train and nurture students and trainees who won prizes.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, in previous school years, the total budget for rewards for students and teachers who won prizes in competitions and teachers who trained and developed students who won prizes was VND12,700,040,000. After adding more subjects and reward budget, the amount increased to VND18,974,650,000.
Student competition with startup ideas won many national awards
In the 2022-2023 school year, 40 student projects participated at the city level, 3 projects entered the national final round and all 3 won the second prize at the national level. In the 2023-2024 school year, 52 projects participated at the city level, 3 projects entered the national final round, of which 2 projects won the first prize and 1 project won the second prize at the national level.
For the 12th National "Teen Melody" Contest (2022-2023 school year) organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh City student delegation participated in the final round and won 3rd prize overall, including 1 first prize for the performance.
