Three decades of building knowledge at Quang Trung High School

GD&TĐ - After 30 years of persistent construction, Quang Trung High School has affirmed its position, becoming a school that helps generations of students fulfill their dreams.

30 years is not too long, but for Quang Trung High School (Phu Trach Commune, Quang Tri Province), it is a journey long enough to affirm the ability to overcome difficulties, maturity and aspiration to rise up. Today, the school has become a home of knowledge, giving wings to dreams for many generations of students in the Lao wind and white sand region.

Journey to adulthood

Established on July 12, 1995, the predecessor of Roon Secondary and High School, Quang Trung High School has gone through 30 years of construction and development, leaving a glorious mark in the career of educating people in the homeland.

In the early days of its establishment, the school had only 15 classrooms, of which only 3 were high school classes, with 19 staff, teachers and employees. The facilities at that time were lacking in every way, with makeshift desks, chairs and teaching equipment. Despite the difficulties, the teaching staff was always filled with love, solidarity, and unity in overcoming challenges, persistently sowing seeds of knowledge for generations of students.

Quang Trung High School has invested in a spacious and modern infrastructure system.

By 1999, the school had expanded to 33 classes, including 17 high school classes. In response to the growing demand for education, on November 3, 1999, the People's Committee of Quang Binh Province (old) issued Decision No. 2069/QD-UB on the separation and formation of Quang Phu Secondary School and Quang Trach High School No. 3.

The important turning point continued to take place in the 2001-2002 school year, when the school was relocated to a new facility located next to National Highway 1. This was a milestone that opened up opportunities for steady development, when teachers and students had more favorable conditions for teaching and learning, while affirming its role as a key educational center of the Northern Quang Binh region at that time.

In the 2010-2011 school year, Bac Quang Trach Semi-Public High School merged into Quang Trach High School No. 3. From then on, the school increased its size to 49 classrooms, more than 2,000 students, and 109 staff members. Not only did it grow in quantity, the quality of teaching and learning was also increasingly improved.

Along with the development process, the Party organization in the school has been gradually improved, increasingly asserting its leadership role. From the initial Party cell with only 11 members, by 2011 the number had increased to 32 comrades. On that basis, the Quang Trach District Party Committee (old) decided to establish the Party Committee of Quang Trach High School No. 3, which has since become the center for orientation and comprehensive guidance of school activities.

Three decades – a journey lit by passion, intelligence and faith.

On May 16, 2014, following the policy of naming schools after historical figures, Quang Trach High School No. 3 officially changed its name to Quang Trung High School. The new name carries pride, and at the same time, motivates teachers and students to affirm their position and continue the tradition of studiousness of their homeland.

Over the past three decades, Quang Trung High School has been honored to receive many noble awards. For many consecutive years, it has achieved the title of Excellent Labor Collective, received the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee, Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh Province (old) and the Ministry of Education and Training. In particular, in 2018, the school was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, demonstrating the continuous efforts of generations of teachers and students.

Firm steps to the future

Since its inception, teachers and students of Quang Trung High School have worked hard to gradually affirm its position as a prestigious school in the area. The school focuses on improving the quality of comprehensive education, while promoting socialization to improve facilities, care for the lives of staff and teachers, and build a strong internal solidarity.

With a campus of over 38,000m², the school has invested in a spacious and modern infrastructure system: 45 classrooms fully equipped with televisions, 11 standard subject rooms, library, multi-purpose hall, professional group activity room, principal's office area and a dormitory with 21 spacious rooms, meeting the learning and training needs of students in the new period. The school space is planned in a green, clean, beautiful and safe direction, creating a friendly environment for students to develop comprehensively.

The school always focuses on training and developing party members.

The school currently has 102 staff, teachers and employees divided into 7 professional groups and 1 office group. 100% of teachers have met training standards, of which 28 teachers have qualifications above the standard. This is a solid foundation for the school to implement innovations in teaching methods, both encouraging the development of individual capacity and focusing on nurturing key students.

The rate of excellent and good students is now 15-20%, the annual high school graduation rate is always close to 100%, in the 2024-2025 school year alone it reached 99.83%. The quality of key students has also made remarkable progress, each year there are 35-50 students winning provincial-level excellent student awards, many of whom have won high prizes, such as: Tu Manh Quynh (First prize in History), Tu Hong Phat (First prize in Physics)...

The quality of the school's spearheads is gradually improved.

Along with improving professional quality, the school also focuses on building a disciplined, friendly and healthy learning environment. Mass organizations such as the Party Committee, Trade Union, Youth Union, and Association for the Promotion of Education, etc. all play an effective role, contributing to creating collective strength.

Currently, the school's Party Committee has 72 party members, accounting for 74% of the school's teachers, always playing a core leadership role, and has successfully and excellently completed its tasks for many consecutive years.

Over the past 30 years, thousands of students of the school have grown up, many of whom now hold important positions in Party agencies, government agencies, businesses, or have become doctors and masters working in many different fields. The success of generations of students is a living proof of the tireless efforts of the school.

Entering a new stage, Quang Trung High School continues to set out many strategic directions: Strengthening the teaching staff in sufficient quantity and strong quality; promoting the application of information technology, digital transformation in management and teaching; increasing investment in facilities, improving the quality of mass education in parallel with improving the quality of key subjects.

The school also focuses on developing a safe and friendly learning environment, effectively coordinating with parents and society to maximize resources and create momentum for sustainable development.
