On September 14, information from Thanh Hoa City Police (Thanh Hoa) said that this unit is investigating and clarifying a traffic accident that left one person dead.

Initial information, before that, at about 19:25 on September 13, Ms. NTH (42 years old, residing in Hoang Dong commune, Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa) was cycling on Can Co street (Long Anh ward, Thanh Hoa city), heading from Hoang Hoa district to the center of Thanh Hoa city, when she was suddenly hit from behind by a car driven by LVT (28 years old, residing in Dong Tho ward, Thanh Hoa city).
As a result of the accident, Ms. H. died on the spot, and her bicycle was stuck in the front of the car.
After the accident, the LVT driver did not stop to assist the victim but drove away from the scene.
Discovering the incident, residents and passersby chased and stopped the LVT driver in the Tay Bac Ga industrial park (Dong Tho ward).
The police force then arrived at the scene, measured the alcohol concentration and discovered that driver T. violated the alcohol concentration.
Also according to initial information, a leader of the Hoang Hoa District Land Registration Office (under the Thanh Hoa Department of Natural Resources and Environment) confirmed that the LVT driver was an officer working at the office. This leader added that on September 13, Mr. T. still went to work as usual. By the evening of the same day (September 13), the unit received information that Mr. T. was involved in a fatal accident.
The accident is being investigated and clarified by the Thanh Hoa City Police Investigation Agency.
