Ranking of high school graduation exam scores in 2025 in 34 provinces and cities
In 2025, Nghe An will lead the country in terms of average high school graduation exam scores with 6.52 points. However, this score is significantly lower than in 2024, when Vinh Phuc ranked first with 7.45 points. This shows that the national average score tends to decrease compared to the previous year.
Provinces such as Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, Hanoi , Phu Tho and Ho Chi Minh City are also in the leading group in 2025, but their average scores are all lower than in 2024. For example, Bac Ninh ranked 5th in 2024 with 7.21 points, but in 2025 it ranked only 9th with 6.22 points.
One notable point is that some provinces that were in the top in 2024 such as Vinh Phuc, Nam Dinh , Binh Duong and Ha Nam did not appear in the 2025 rankings. This shows that there are large fluctuations in rankings and scores between years.
Regarding major cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will maintain their positions in the top 10-15 localities with high graduation exam scores in 2025. Hanoi will rank 4th with 6.44 points, while Ho Chi Minh City will rank 6th with 6.27 points. Compared to 2024, this is a clear improvement, when Hanoi ranked 12th and Ho Chi Minh City ranked 20th.
On the other hand, mountainous and remote provinces such as Son La, Cao Bang, Lai Chau, Dak Lak and Lang Son are still in the group with the lowest average scores. Son La in 2025 is at the bottom of the table with 5.41 points, lower than the lowest score of Ha Giang in 2024 of 5.68 points.
Overall, the average high school graduation exam score in 2025 tends to decrease compared to 2024 in most provinces and cities. The fluctuation in rankings reflects changes in training quality or exam difficulty between years. At the same time, mountainous and remote provinces are still facing many challenges in improving the quality of education and graduation exam scores.
