
Receiving the delegation at the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City was Most Venerable Thich Le Trang, Head of the Executive Committee and Head of the Sangha Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.
At the Archbishop's Palace, the delegation was welcomed by Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Dong informed about the organizational restructuring of the department after merging 3 localities (Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau ).
He also informed that on the same morning, the department announced the decisions to appoint department heads, Deputy department heads and department-level civil servants.
After the merger, Ho Chi Minh City is now a locality that gathers all 54 ethnic groups and 40 religious organizations, becoming a major center for ethnic and religious work with a huge workload, with many difficulties in the beginning. The Department's Board of Directors has assigned specific tasks to the leaders of the departments, and it is expected that activities will be put into order as soon as possible.
Comrade Nguyen Van Dong expressed that the department's cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers immediately got to work, determined to overcome difficulties and challenges, and successfully complete their tasks in the new situation.

He hoped to continue receiving support and coordination from the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City and the Archbishopric of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese to improve the effectiveness of state management of religion and belief in the new situation; contributes to strengthening the great national unity bloc.
