Danish tennis player Holger Rune has just encountered trouble with his sponsor when two broken rackets from this company suddenly appeared on his sales website, with a price tag of 7,221 USD (nearly 190 million VND).
These are two rackets that were broken in official matches and were advertised on the web as "exclusive collector's items" because Rune rarely lost his temper.
This incident happened right after Rune, the 8th seed, was eliminated in the first round of Wimbledon 2025 when he lost to Nicolas Jarry (Chile) after 5 sets.
Two rackets are for sale on Holger Rune's website.
However, as of today, both rackets have been removed from the website, leaving only competition apparel and accessories. The French sponsor later criticized the sale of damaged rackets as not in line with their direction.
"We have no intention of promoting the image of a broken racket. We are working with Rune's representative to resolve this issue," said Marion Cornu, a representative from the brand.

However, according to CLAY, Rune confirmed that he did not receive any direct contact from the company. His website management team proactively removed the product to avoid unwanted media attention.
However, one racket was sold and all the proceeds will be donated to charity.
