Ahead of the US tour, the atmosphere at Carrington has become more tense than ever. According to the Daily Mail , five stars including Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia have been asked not to attend training next week.

Although they will still be allowed to use the medical and rehabilitation facilities at Carrington, the group of five players will not be able to contact coach Amorim and the rest of the first-team squad.

According to inside sources, coach Ruben Amorim's decision is not only tactical, but also a strong message: players who are no longer in his plans will not be allowed to affect the overall spirit and preparation of the whole team.

All five of the above names were sent out on loan last season, and are now actively looking for a way out of Old Trafford.

Antony has no way back into the starting lineup.

The most notable event was the official stripping of Marcus Rashford's No. 10 shirts from the club in favor of £62.5m new signing Matheus Cunha. Although Rashford has been a key part of the club's recent history, it is clear that he has no future at Old Trafford.

Rashford, who was criticized by Amorim for his training attitude and sent on loan to Aston Villa in the second half of the last season, is being targeted by both Barcelona and Bayern Munich. However, both clubs are still hesitant to pay the £40 million transfer fee for the 1997-born player.

Meanwhile, Garnacho sparked outrage with his unprofessional reaction to being benched for the Europa League final against Tottenham. Napoli are monitoring the Argentine's situation, while Chelsea and Tottenham are also ready to join the fray.

Jadon Sancho, despite impressing somewhat for Chelsea last season, was not bought outright by the Blues and is a potential target for Juventus. However, the big obstacle is the former Dortmund player's salary of up to £275,000/week.

Meanwhile, Antony, after a successful spell at Real Betis, is also waiting for a decision on his future. Betis wants to buy him permanently, but only on a loan deal with a buyout clause worth around £30m.

Finally, Dutch defender Tyrell Malacia is in question after PSV Eindhoven decided not to activate his buyout clause. With no long-term plans for Amorim, he will almost certainly have to find a new destination.
