From the ticket to stay in the league

From a team that used to be a symbol of achievement, beautiful playing style, and possessing the most talented generation of players in Vietnam, in recent seasons, the goal of the mountain town team is only to fight for relegation.

Not only struggling and having to live in a constant feeling of anxiety, Mr. Duc's team also disappointed fans by no longer playing fair, even many matches were played so weakly that it was hard to understand.

With such a face, it is not surprising that like the recent seasons, HAGL also had to wait until the end of the season to be sure of staying in the league.

Also because of that difficult relegation ticket, the 2024/25 V-League season ended with HAGL with a sigh of relief instead of too much joy.

To the question for HAGL's future

Like an unwritten rule in recent years, HAGL is facing a "bleeding" of forces after the season ends.

Most recently, many key players, who have shouldered the burden, been the soul, the identity and helped the team overcome the crisis, officially said goodbye to find a new, more stable and ambitious destination such as Chau Ngoc Quang, Tran Minh Vuong or Dung Quang Nho, leaving a huge void both professionally and spiritually for HAGL.

Next season, HAGL will put their faith in young players, but fear that it will be difficult...

When the most experienced players leave, the mountain town team will certainly continue the "homegrown" policy, promoting young players from the academy to replace them.

This is a respectable philosophy, but also a risky gamble. Young players need time to mature, need experience to cope with the fierceness of the V-League. Putting the burden of relegation on the shoulders of young players is an extremely difficult problem.

A prospect of an even more difficult 2025/26 season is looming before HAGL. And the question "Where will HAGL go?" is a real concern, as next year Mr. Duc will reach the 25-year milestone of working and building a brand from football.

With what we are seeing, Mr. Duc's 25-year milestone of perseverance and passion pursuit is afraid to be like recent seasons: no direction, no achievements and even... not beautiful.
