Morning of June 17, gold price continues to decrease

After a sharp drop the day before, this morning, June 17, domestic gold prices continued to drop by 200,000-600,000 VND/tael.

Opening, Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company listed the price of gold rings at 114 million VND/tael (buy) - 116.8 million VND/tael (sell), down 1 million VND/tael (buy) and 200,000 VND/tael (sell) compared to the end of the previous day.

Saigon Jewelry Company Limited set the price at 113.7 million VND/tael (buy) - 116.2 million VND/tael (sell), down 200,000 VND/tael each way.

Phu Quy Group listed the price at 113.9 million VND/tael (buy) - 116.9 million VND/tael (sell) instead of 114.5 million VND/tael (buy) - 117.5 million VND/tael (sell) at the end of the previous day.

For SJC gold bars, the company initially set the price at 117.3 million VND/tael (buy) - 119.3 million VND/tael (sell), down 300,000 VND/tael each way. By 9am, the company had brought the price back to the same level as yesterday's closing price.

Yesterday, the price of SJC gold bars initially increased but then decreased again, down 200,000 VND/tael (buying price) and 700,000 VND/tael (selling price) compared to the end of the previous day.

Meanwhile, the price of gold rings increased by 200,000-1,000,000 VND/tael (buying) and 200,000-500,000 VND/tael (selling).

On the international market, early this morning, gold prices dropped sharply below the $3,400/ounce mark, to $3,394/ounce, as investors rushed to take profits.

At 9:30 a.m., the gold price was trading at 3,398.3 USD/ounce, converted to nearly 12 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold price.
