The charity group “Sharing Love” was established in early 2018 in My Tho City (now My Tho Ward, Dong Thap Province). Initially, it was just a small group of about 10 members, mainly young people, retired officials, traders and teachers who love volunteering.
Without headquarters or signboards, they gather together to discuss, plan and contribute to community activities. The name “Sharing Love” was chosen by the members as a motto for action, aiming at the values of humanity and connection.
Initially, the charity group “Sharing Love” mainly visited and gave gifts to children with cancer and lonely patients being treated at Tien Giang General Hospital and the provincial Traditional Medicine Hospital. Every week, the group members brought porridge, milk boxes, and some cakes to the hospital to give away for free to patients and their families in difficult circumstances.
From small actions, the group gradually spread sympathy and received the support of many kind-hearted people inside and outside the province.
With the motto “The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves”, the charity group “Sharing love” regularly mobilizes philanthropists, individuals and organizations to help those in difficult circumstances in life. When knowing information about a situation that needs help, the group is ready to participate, regardless of whether it is far or near…
Although each member of the group has different circumstances and occupations, they all share the same compassion for others. Whenever there is an unfortunate situation that needs help, without anyone telling them, the members of the group actively participate in the campaign. It is the enthusiasm of the members of the “Sharing Love” Charity Group that has brought about effectiveness in the campaign to help those in difficult and unfortunate circumstances.
The forms of assistance provided by the “Sharing Love” Charity Group are always close to the needs of each subject, focusing on providing regular monthly subsidies for difficult cases; supporting scholarships for students with special circumstances; supporting charity kitchens or distributing free meals and porridge to patients and their relatives being treated at hospitals... Especially in the past time, the group's ambulance has participated in free hospital transfers for many poor patients...
In the past time, the Charity Group “Sharing Love” has provided support to more than 200 poor patients undergoing dialysis at Tien Giang General Hospital and Military Hospital 120 (200,000 VND/patient); sponsored 3 students from Tien Giang University with scholarships, each receiving 1 million VND/month; coordinated with units to award scholarships to students with especially difficult circumstances at primary schools in the area.
Up to now, the charity group “Sharing love” has had more than 20 regular members. Every month, the group organizes at least 2 large programs and many small activities according to actual needs. Especially, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the group regularly organizes programs to give many gifts to the poor, lonely elderly people, orphans, mental patients, etc.
The silent but humane actions of the "Sharing Love" Charity Group have contributed to arousing humanity, connecting the community and inspiring positive living.
