In a recent announcement, the company said it has begun beta testing Cline for employees in its Device eXperience (DX) division — which includes its mobile, TV, and home appliances businesses.
Cline is an open-source AI tool that helps programmers write, edit, and test code using simple natural language commands like “create login function.” Unlike conventional programming assistants that only support basic tasks, Cline can handle more complex software development processes, significantly improving work efficiency.
Samsung plans to continue beta testing until the end of this month and aims to launch the official version as early as next month.
In addition, Samsung has also established a dedicated AI productivity innovation team within the DX division.
This group acts as a “central control tower,” overseeing the development of AI infrastructure and systems across the company, and supporting the deployment of AI tools within each business unit.
A day earlier, Samsung announced that its Galaxy Watch smartwatch line had received the European Union's Conformite Europeenne (CE) certification for its sleep apnea detection feature, expanding the feature's global availability.
