Saigon yesterday

HeritageHeritage01/08/2024

Coming to the photo series, viewers are led from the bustling market and bus station scene in Saigon in the early 90s, the time-stained apartment windows, to the daily life of people spanning many years along with the development of the country.
Born when the country was at peace , with more than 20 years of living, studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Nguyen Thanh Tung recorded life in this city through the photography lens of a former journalist, a photographer, and more than that, a young citizen of the post-liberation generation. In each photo, regardless of the subject, the author captures genuine, youthful moments of the landscape and people of Saigon.
Although time has passed, the street corners, roads, architectural works or daily life here always show the character of Saigon people, the Southern character clearly in every moment: sincere, simple, not ostentatious but containing a strong inner strength, a positive way of life. An open, generous and generous Saigon.
Saigon of yesterday are beautiful images, memories that never fade in the hearts of every Saigonese.
