Ms. Dang Thi Phuc, owner of a plaster factory, meticulously checks products before leaving the factory.

In the yard of her husband's family on Hong Linh Street, Giap Nhat residential group, Huong Tra ward, Ms. Phuc and her husband, along with a few employees, are busy kneading and polishing plaster statues to meet orders. "When I was a ward official, I only took advantage of my free time to make statues. Now that I have completely quit my job, I am devoting all my heart to production and business," the young female party member smiled gently.

Graduated with a major in Social Work, Ms. Phuc soon asserted her role in the locality by holding many positions such as: Vice President of the Farmers' Association of Huong Van Ward (old), Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Secretary of the Youth Union of Giap Nhat Residential Group. With her outstanding contributions, she was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of the City People's Committee for her achievements in the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

When the two-level local government system was in operation, Ms. Phuc decided to quit her part-time job to focus on starting a business - not an easy decision, but a necessary one.

Before building the plaster factory, she opened a smoothie and juice shop and quickly became a meeting place for young people in the area. However, her real passion came from her daughter's hobby of painting statues. At first, Ms. Phuc only accepted wholesale statues for coffee shops and entertainment areas, but the income was not high. Undaunted, she and her husband decided to learn the trade. She went to large workshops to learn, and also researched and experimented on her own. "There were nights when my husband and I stayed up all night, just to try again and again to come up with a new satisfactory design," Ms. Phuc recalled.

The plaster statue market is very competitive. To stand firm, you have to keep up with trends and create unique designs. When these two factors are ensured, Ms. Phuc focuses on quality: each product must be smooth, sharp, and eye-catching when painted.

With little capital, limited space, and fragile statues when transported long distances, Ms. Phuc did not give up. She learned how to pack safely and actively promoted her products on social networks to expand the market.

Currently, her workshop has more than 1,000 statue models, producing nearly 500 products every day, present in all provinces and cities across the country. The model not only brings a stable income to the family, but also creates jobs for local workers. "Seeing my statues in many coffee shops and bookstores, I am very happy. I am happy because the children have more creative games, and my family also has more income," Ms. Phuc confided.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, owner of KUROMI creative coloring shop, Phu Xuan ward commented: “I choose to buy Ms. Phuc’s plaster products because the designs are beautiful, diverse and often have new designs, not duplicated. The price is reasonable, the quality of the statues is smooth and sharp, so children really like it...”.

Ms. Phuc shared: “Doing business is not easy. But if you are not bold, you will never know how far you can go.” Sharing about her upcoming plans, Ms. Phuc said that she hopes to access preferential loans to invest in dryers, helping to maintain stable production all year round, avoiding the situation of having no place to dry statues during the rainy season.

Mr. Tran Phuc, expert of the Party Building Committee of Huong Tra Ward, former Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Huong Van Ward, said: Ms. Dang Thi Phuc is a young and enthusiastic cadre, always enthusiastic in movements and actively mobilizing members to develop the economy , and at the same time good at production and business. From movements to practice, Ms. Phuc is a pioneer. Currently no longer a cadre of the association, but with an effective production and business model, she continues to be an example to inspire many young people, spreading the spirit of starting a business to get rich among young people.
