Quang Ngai: Dak Pxi Commune Women's Union accompanies female members in economic development

Implementing the program of the Women's Union and the Women's Movement in 2025, the Standing Committee of the Women's Union of Dak Pxi Commune (Quang Ngai Province) recently organized a visit to grasp the activities of the "Buying and processing bamboo shoots" Joint Group in Dak Wek Village (Dak Pxi Commune).

Bamboo shoots have long been a typical product, closely associated with the lives and livelihoods of the people of Dak Pxi commune. Realizing that potential, since 2023, the Commune Women's Union has mobilized the establishment of the "Buying and Processing Bamboo Shoots" Association with 20 members, most of whom are female members. In recent times, the women have actively exploited, purchased and processed bamboo shoots - a local specialty, contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for members.

Up to now, the Joint Group has initially confirmed the average efficiency of each crop. The Joint Group purchases tons of fresh bamboo shoots, processes them into dried products, packages them, and supplies them to the market in and outside the province. Thanks to that, the members of the Joint Group have an additional source of stable income, gradually building bamboo shoots into a "typical product with economic value" of the commune.

The "Buying and processing bamboo shoots" association in Dak Wek village buys tons of fresh bamboo shoots, processes them into dried products, packages them, and supplies them to markets inside and outside the province.

During the visit, the Standing Committee of the Dak Pxi Women's Union encouraged the spirit and acknowledged the efforts of the Coalition Group in developing the collective economy, and listened to the difficulties and problems that the women are facing such as capital, packaging, product labels and stable output for the products. The Union also oriented, in the coming time, to continue to accompany, propagate and mobilize female members to join the Coalition Group; guide access to capital sources from the Bank for Social Policies and coordinate with sectors and organizations to support the organization of training courses on processing techniques, product promotion and market connection. At the same time, mobilize members to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity and creativity to improve production efficiency, in order to increase the value of bamboo shoots not only locally but also to expand to neighboring areas.

Accompanying and supporting the "Buying and processing bamboo shoots" Linking Group is a practical work of the Women's Union of Dak Pxi commune, aiming to encourage and accompany female members in economic development, sustainable livelihood models, building bamboo shoots into a typical local brand, associated with the program of building sustainable new rural areas.
