- On August 29, the delegation of the Association of Literature, Arts and Journalists of Lang Son province participated in a series of field trips to Guangxi, China to survey, learn and gain inspiration for artistic creation, contributing to promoting cultural exchange between Lang Son province (Vietnam) and the Zhuang Autonomous Region (Guangxi, China).
On the Minh Giang River (a branch of the Ta Giang River, Chongzuo City, Guangxi, China), the delegation surveyed the world cultural heritage Hoa Son Nham Hoa with rock paintings over 2,000 years old with unique historical and cultural values, reflecting the spiritual life and beliefs of the Zhuang ethnic people.
This cultural landscape was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 2016. This activity not only helps Lang Son artists understand more deeply about Chinese folk art but also opens up opportunities to compare and connect with traditional cultural values of Vietnam, especially the similarities in folk art in border areas.
During the program, the delegation also visited the Tao Ta Folk Painting Creation Base (Long Chau, Chong Ta), which preserves and develops traditional paintings of ethnic groups living in Guangxi, China.
Here, Lang Son artists exchanged and learned techniques and creative styles from local artisans, thereby finding inspiration for new works imbued with the culture of the Vietnam-China border region.
The visit to the folk handicraft workshop provided a comprehensive view of the manufacturing process, from the use of traditional materials to sophisticated manual techniques, contributing to enriching the creative experience of the group members.
Also in Longzhou District (Guangxi, China), the delegation visited The Gia Brocade Workshop - one of the first "Intangible Workshops to Help People Escape Poverty" in Longzhou District, and at the same time an important tool for the community in promoting cultural preservation, increasing employment and income for local people.
This field trip is a valuable opportunity for Lang Son artists to approach the unique cultural values of Guangxi, thereby learning more from the experiences of artists and experts from the neighboring country, inspiring creativity and strengthening the friendship between the two countries. These experiences will be transformed into works of art, contributing to promoting Lang Son and Vietnamese culture to international friends.
The series of activities not only have cultural significance but also contribute to strengthening the cooperative relationship between Lang Son and Guangxi, creating a foundation for future art exchange programs. The works inspired by the trip promise to bring new, diverse and profound perspectives, reflecting the beauty of the folk culture of the two countries.
