'The quintessence of the great forest and the blue sea converge': The sound of gongs blends with the rhythm of the waves

Brilliant opening night of the 2025 "Essence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea" Festival in Gia Lai .

On the evening of August 29, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon Ward), the People's Committee of Gia Lai province held the opening ceremony of the "Quintessence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea" Festival in 2025.

The event attracted thousands of locals and tourists to attend and fully enjoy performances about the land and people of Gia Lai after unification.

Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, beat the drum to open the series of events in the "Quintessence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea" Festival in 2025.

The festival includes a series of culinary and entertainment activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 in Gia Lai province. This is also a major cultural and artistic event, welcoming the newly formed Gia Lai province from the merger of the former Gia Lai and Binh Dinh provinces.

The performances on the opening night were a combination of traditional cultures, from the Central Highlands gong culture to the thousand-year-old Champa culture, from prayers in the middle of the forest to songs by the sea, from the rice warehouse of the village to the prayers for a good harvest of the fishermen.

Gia Lai province today is a place of harmony between cultures, people who know how to share and build together.

The opening night art program of the festival has the participation of artists such as: Miss Tourism Ambassador 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa, singers Quang Dung, Van Mai Huong, Su Duy Vuong...

Locals and tourists came with their families to the festival opening event.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee shared with the people and tourists about the achievements and values of Gia Lai land after the merger between Binh Dinh coastal area and Gia Lai great forest.

“The event has a special meaning as it marks the beginning of a new development phase for Gia Lai province: solidarity, creativity, awakening potential and aspirations to rise. This is also a province blessed with a long coastline, white sand, clear blue water, blending with the Central Highlands mountains and forests, with majestic red basalt soil and is also a land rich in cultural, historical and revolutionary traditions,” Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh shared.

The stage exploded with vibrant colors and vibrant sounds of songs depicting the typical beauty of Vietnam to the beauty of the new Gia Lai province.

The opening night of the 2025 "Essence of the Great Forest - Convergence of the Blue Sea" Festival ended with a low-altitude fireworks display, illuminating Quy Nhon beach, making locals and tourists cheer and enjoy.
