Proposal to invest nearly 2,000 billion VND to upgrade Ho Chi Minh road through Da Nang and Quang Ngai

The Vietnam Road Administration has just proposed that the Ministry of Construction invest in a project to strengthen the road surface and renovate dangerous and unsafe locations on some sections of Ho Chi Minh Road through Da Nang City and Quang Ngai Province.

The project investment aims to improve the traffic capacity of Ho Chi Minh Road through Da Nang City and Quang Ngai Province to meet the increasing transportation demand. At the same time, it promotes socio -economic development and creates space for the development of urban centers of districts and cities.

The proposed investment scope includes 3 sections with a total length of about 65km.

Of which, section 1 has a total length of more than 15km through Kham Duc commune. Section 2 is more than 26km long in Phuoc Nang commune. Section 3 from Km1047+495-Km1431+127 has a total length of more than 23km with the starting point through Dak Plo commune and the ending point in Dak Pet commune ( Quang Ngai province).

The project will replace the cement concrete road surface with an asphalt concrete pavement structure on a crushed stone aggregate base. At the same time, it will build 2 motor vehicle lanes and reinforce 2 sidewalks for mixed traffic of motorbikes and bicycles, increasing the road's traffic capacity.

The total preliminary investment of the project is 1,983 billion VND from the state budget in the medium-term investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030. The investment is expected to be implemented in 2026 - 2029, and put into operation and use in 2030.
