Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom - a trader said: "Compared to last year, this year the price of kumquat is higher due to crop failure. Kumquat only appears in the summer, the ripening time is very short, about a month, so many people often take advantage of the opportunity to order a few kilos. On average, I import a hundred kilograms a day to pay customers, some people buy a few dozen kilos, and others also buy a few kilos. In addition to eating directly, people use this fruit to soak and gradually treat coughs. The fruit has a sweet, sour taste and a very unique aroma. Eating a lot of this fruit will make the tongue a bit sore, but many people still like it very much."

Tips for choosing delicious kumquats
According to Ms. Thom, to choose delicious kumquats, consumers also need to pay attention to a few things. Delicious kumquats are dark yellow, evenly colored because they are just ripe, and have a natural sweet taste. Choose fresh bunches, large round fruits that will have a lot of flesh. People should avoid choosing bunches with light yellow or slightly green fruits that will have a sour taste; and overripe fruits are easily bruised and not delicious.

When choosing, buyers can test by pressing lightly on the fruit. If it is soft, they should not choose it because it is overripe and easily crushed. People can also try a few fruits before buying to see if the kumquat has a moderate sweet and sour taste, suitable for their taste. Another thing to note is that people should choose kumquats with a characteristic aroma, without any strange smell.
To preserve kumquats for year-round use, people often dry them for later use or soak them in honey or make jam.
