In addition to the award categories that were present in the previous two seasons, such as the Asian Film Competition Award, the Vietnamese Film Competition Award, the NETPAC Award and the Audience Award for the program “Today’s Vietnamese Cinema”, at DANAFF III, for the first time, there was the Critics’ Award for Outstanding Asian Film in the program “Asian Cinema Panorama”. Many Asian and Vietnamese films chose DANAFF as the place for their international premiere.

Following the success of the two Da Nang Asian Film Festivals, the Da Nang People's Committee and the Vietnam Film Promotion Association (VFDA) jointly organized the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival - DANAFF III, taking place from June 29 to July 5 in Da Nang city, with the participation of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, departments and branches of Da Nang city, UNIMedia Company and related units.

Three international seminars on nurturing young talents, learning from the successful experiences of Korean cinema and the imprint of Vietnamese war films since the country's reunification have gathered many generations of famous domestic and international filmmakers who have made great contributions to the film industry; critics, film experts, and theoretical researchers with in-depth perspectives, creating a forum for lively and emotional exchanges, summarizing practical experiences to build an advanced, modern Vietnamese cinema that is rich in identity and leaves its mark on the world.

The DANAFF Talents program has given wings to young Vietnamese and Asian cinema talents through the acting class “Talent Incubation” with 52 promising faces, the “Project Incubator” with 14 Asian film projects and the “Master Class” intensive class, which has also left special marks with the guidance of leading experts in Vietnamese and world cinema.

Most importantly, the two categories of Asian Film and Vietnamese Film have created a special competition with many domestic and foreign works. This year, the number of films competing has also increased, including many films choosing DANAFF as the place for their first screening and international debut.

After a week of hard work and dedication, the Jury of DANAFF III has selected worthy works for each award category.
