According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, recently, a number of serious incidents have occurred on the dike system, such as damage to the Van Thai drainage culvert (in Hung Yen province, formerly Thai Binh ) and widespread silting at the Cam Bao pumping station (Bac Ninh province), in the context of complex and extreme weather and natural disasters.
In the face of the above situation, the Ministry requested localities to inspect and review all dike works, fully prepare materials and means for natural disaster prevention according to the "4 on-site" motto; at the same time, promptly overcome existing incidents, strictly implement the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha in Official Dispatch No. 5183/VPCP-NN dated June 11, 2025.
Notably, the Ministry requires localities to clearly assign responsibilities to each level and individual in dike protection work, to avoid being passive, especially in the process of reorganizing the local government apparatus and departments after the merger.
Localities are required to report implementation results to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment before July 25, 2025.

The list of 29 localities receiving the dispatch includes many key provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa, Bac Ninh, An Giang, Ca Mau...
