Dr. Vu Tri Thanh, Party Secretary and Director of Thu Duc City Hospital, shared: “We are very happy that through many times of organizing, there are more and more booths from philanthropists, organizations and sponsors. This proves that this is a truly effective and meaningful activity that receives attention from society. In the organization stages, we also have to prepare very carefully in terms of both content and form, not only in terms of the value of the gift but also in the way it is given, so that patients feel that it is a matter of care, sharing and love, not a matter of giving.”

In addition to giving gifts, the program also organized many meaningful activities such as free haircuts, calligraphy, folk games and lucky draws.

Ms. NTX (40 years old, living in Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City) - a relative of a patient being treated at Thu Duc City Hospital, said: “Today I received a lot of necessary items, including milk, cakes, rice, eggs... everything, and even a haircut. For me, this is a very good activity, especially for people in difficult circumstances. Thanks to the market, the atmosphere at the hospital this morning was more bustling, everyone was happy and looking forward to receiving gifts.”

Desire to scale

Ms. TLQ (67 years old, living in Binh Duong province) - a philanthropist - shared: "This is the first time I have participated in the program. Here, I can share with patients and contribute to the community, so I am very happy. I will definitely continue to participate in many more programs in the future."

After 12 successful events, the zero-dong market has become a meaningful sharing festival, caring for more than 4,400 patients in especially difficult circumstances. Not only providing material support, this is also a valuable source of spiritual encouragement, helping patients feel more confident in their treatment journey.

“Although the hospital has tried its best, each market session currently only supports about 300-350 patients. The hospital currently has 750 inpatient beds, with an average of 4,200 visits per day - much more than 350. Therefore, we hope that the program can expand in scale, with more benefactors, so that more and more situations can be helped,” Dr. Tri Thanh expressed.
