In recent years, Ngoc Phung commune (Thuong Xuan) has had many solutions to mobilize people and businesses to invest in industry, handicrafts, construction, and services, contributing to socio -economic development, creating jobs, and increasing people's income.
Realizing the potential and advantages of raw materials and labor, in 2012, with the support of the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan district and Ngoc Phung commune in terms of land and administrative procedures, Mr. Cao Van Son in Thanh Hoa city decided to invest in building a forest products processing complex in Quyet Tien village, Ngoc Phung commune. To expand production, in 2017, Mr. Lam decided to establish Son Lam Service - Trading Company Limited, specializing in producing votive paper for export to the Taiwanese market (China). On average, each year the company purchases over 2,000 tons of raw wood (mainly acacia and bamboo), produces 700 tons of votive paper for export, with estimated revenue of nearly 1 million USD, creating jobs for over 100 local workers with an income of 8 million VND/person/month.
Chairman of Ngoc Phung Commune People's Committee Trinh Van Truong said: Determining the development of industrial and handicraft industries as a driving force for socio-economic development, actively contributing to job creation and income increase for people, the commune has created favorable conditions for an open business environment, providing information on planning, infrastructure investment, industrial land funds, labor resources and suitable industries. At the same time, selecting and developing traditional rural industrial products; restoring and developing traditional industries and occupations. The commune also encourages businesses and production establishments to promote the application of science and technology , invest in advanced equipment based on existing industries, create high-value products, thereby paying attention to building brands and trademarks for products... By the end of 2024, Ngoc Phung commune has attracted 3 cooperatives, 16 companies and enterprises operating in fields such as: Construction, transportation business, forestry processing, export bag sewing; and 212 service business households. To improve productivity and product quality, many establishments have proactively invested in modern machinery and equipment in production, seeking large-scale consumption markets. The value of the industry and handicraft industry in the commune has developed quite well. The total value of the industry and handicraft industry and services in 2024 is estimated at 135 billion VND, creating jobs and stable income for hundreds of local workers.
