Yemen proposes Vietnam to connect businesses to learn from experience

On July 17, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang held talks with Dr. Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Yemeni Overseas Vietnamese during his visit and work in Vietnam.

At the talks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed her pleasure to welcome Dr. Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, to visit and work in Vietnam, affirming that the first visit by a Yemeni Foreign Minister after 60 years of establishing relations is of great significance, opening up new momentum in the relationship between the two countries.

The Deputy Minister congratulated the Yemeni Government on establishing the Presidential Council, opening up prospects for peace and stability for the country. The leader of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that as a country that has experienced war, Vietnam understands and sympathizes with the difficulties that the country and people of Yemen have been and are facing, and hopes that Yemen will soon achieve the highest goal of stability, peace and development.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Yemeni expatriate expressed their joy in visiting Vietnam for the first time, witnessing the beauty of the country, people and development achievements of Vietnam. The Deputy Minister thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the warm, friendly and hospitable welcome.

Dr. Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash expressed his special admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and said that he has long been impressed by Vietnam's heroic history of struggle, unique culture and remarkable development achievements. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Yemeni expatriates affirmed that Vietnam's development story is a source of inspiration for underdeveloped, war-affected countries like Yemen to strive and learn from its experience.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang shared the process of Vietnam's efforts, reforms and development, from a backward, poor economy due to war to becoming the 32nd largest economy in the world and said that Vietnam is currently entering a new stage of development, determined to strongly reform, striving to achieve the goal of becoming a developing country with an upper middle income by 2030 and a developed country by 2045.

The two sides agreed to identify a number of priority areas of cooperation in the coming time, including promoting delegation exchanges, sharing information and cooperation opportunities between the two countries, promoting cooperation to increase trade turnover above the current level of 50 million USD, and cooperating to develop the Halal industry...

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Yemeni expatriates Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash suggested that Vietnam connect Yemeni businesses to Vietnam to learn from experience and support Yemen in training officials at the Diplomatic Academy. Agreeing with Deputy Minister Bajash's proposal, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed her readiness to share experiences in economic development, enhance cooperation in education, trade and cooperation in the field of Halal.

Within the multilateral framework, Deputy Foreign Minister and Yemeni expatriate Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash highly appreciated Vietnam's role and active contributions, affirming that he always supports Vietnam at multilateral forums. The two sides agreed to continue to increase exchanges and support each other at multilateral forums of which both are members, especially the United Nations.

On this occasion, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang and Yemeni Deputy Foreign Minister and Overseas Vietnamese Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a political consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries, creating an important foundational framework to promote comprehensive bilateral relations in the coming time.
