On the afternoon of July 11, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the Department of Health on the operation situation after the merger and the implementation of tasks in the coming time.

According to the report, the Vinh Long Health System after the arrangement and merger has reduced 22 focal units to 62 units including: 6 functional departments under the Department, 2 branches and 54 units under the Department; 124 medical stations under the Regional Health Centers. The merger ensures a streamlined, appropriate, scientific and tight organizational structure in accordance with the policy of building a 2-level local government organization model.
Hospitals, medical centers, and health stations have prepared enough medicines, medical supplies, and chemicals to ensure medical examination and treatment for people and disease prevention and control; in particular, health stations still maintain main and secondary points to be ready to examine, treat, prevent and control diseases and take care of people's health, ensuring the rights of health insurance participants. Social protection facilities actively care for and fully implement the regime for people receiving social protection at the facility and continue to deploy and carry out activities related to population development and ensuring food safety in the area.
However, currently, the number of public medical examination and treatment facilities implementing Electronic Medical Records is still low, reaching 35%, mainly in facilities in Vinh Long province (old).
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi highly appreciated the health sector's activities in recent times, especially during the merger period. She also requested the health sector to continue to pay attention to training human resources to meet the demand for qualified, professional and capable doctors for health facilities; focus on implementing electronic health records and electronic medical records and innovating and improving the quality of medical examination and treatment at health facilities in the area.
