The Ring Road I project (from the intersection of Le Duan - Pham Hung, Ward 8 to Tran Quoc Toan Street, Ward 6, Soc Trang City) has a total investment of over 580 billion VND, with a total length of about 4km, a roadbed width of 26m, a roadway width of 14m, and sidewalks on both sides of 2m. The project started construction in 2024, divided into 2 sections with 2 bidding packages, up to now, the progress of section 1 is 3.3% behind schedule, section 2 is very slow. The reason is due to site clearance, there are currently 69 households that have not received money and handed over the site.
The Ring Road II Project (section from Pham Hung Street, Ward 8, Soc Trang City to National Highway 60, Phu Tan Commune, Chau Thanh District) has a total investment of nearly 612 billion VND, with a total length of 5.23km, a road surface width of 14m, and a roadbed width of 40m. The project consists of 3 packages, currently in the implementation phase of pumping sand K95, K98 on the roadbed; construction of crushed stone grade 1, 2; installation of longitudinal drainage culverts; construction of cross-road culverts; construction of bridge abutments... The total construction volume to date has reached about 56%. Compared to the progress, many packages are still slow. The reason is due to site clearance because there are still 18 households within the construction area of the roadbed in Soc Trang City that have not yet handed over the site for various reasons. In addition, the reason for the slow project implementation also comes from the contractors.

After listening to the report of the investor and the People's Committee of Soc Trang city, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Lau suggested that the People's Committee of Soc Trang city focus on site clearance, review each household, grasp each situation to have solutions for implementation, in which priority is given to propaganda and persuasion of people about the purpose and significance of the projects to create consensus and unity among the people. In addition, flexibly apply social security policies and regimes to ensure the lives of people affected by the project. If necessary, the investor, the People's Committee of Soc Trang city and the construction unit will coordinate to protect the construction in accordance with legal regulations. Comrade Tran Van Lau suggested that the investors of the projects review the contractors in the implementation of the projects, if any contractor is behind schedule due to subjective reasons, they should boldly handle them according to regulations, to ensure the projects are completed on schedule.
