Vietnam team wins AFF Cup 2024.
"I would like to congratulate the Vietnamese team on becoming the champion of the AFF Cup 2024," former coach Park Hang Seo wrote on social media using his personal account after the second leg of the final. Before that, in the first leg, Mr. Park was also present at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ) to cheer for the Vietnamese team.
The Korean coach continued: "I would like to thank head coach Kim Sang-sik, the team's coaching staff, the players and VFF officials. You have worked really hard and deserve this achievement. And above all, congratulations and thanks to the people and government of Vietnam for always supporting, accompanying and assisting the team over the years."

The Vietnamese team defeated Thailand in both final matches with a total score of 5-3 to win the AFF Cup 2024 championship. This is the third time Vietnamese football has won the championship in this arena. In the last 2 times, Korean coaches led the team.
Former head coach of the Vietnam national team Park Hang Seo did not forget to remind his former students - including players and coach Kim Sang-sik - to aim for higher goals.

After the 2024 AFF Cup, the next task of coach Kim Sang-sik and his team is the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers starting in March 2025. In addition, Mr. Kim will also lead the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the 33rd SEA Games taking place later this year in Thailand.
