Right from the beginning of the year, the entire Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of An Giang has proactively and resolutely implemented synchronous solutions according to the 2025 work program of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Provincial People's Committee. The atmosphere of celebrating the Party and the Spring of At Ty 2025 has spread everywhere, with many propaganda and agitation activities and unique art programs. Not only stopping at joyful activities, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also focuses on honoring historical and traditional values. The ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate recognizing the intangible cultural heritage of the Festival of Ba Chua Xu in Sam Mountain as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity is a bright spot, affirming the unique cultural values of An Giang on the world map. This event is not only the pride of An Giang people, but also a motivation for the locality to continue to preserve and promote traditional cultural values.

Activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) were solemnly held with a flower offering ceremony at the statue of President Ton Duc Thang, an incense offering ceremony at the Memorial Site of President Ton Duc Thang, a commemorative meeting program and an art program with the theme "50-year journey - Aspiration to reach far". "These activities help our young generation better understand the sacrifices of our ancestors to achieve today's peace. From there, we love our Fatherland more and appreciate history more" - member Nguyen Minh Cuong (An Giang University, Ho Chi Minh City National University) shared after attending the flower offering ceremony at the provincial Martyrs' Cemetery.

In addition, activities to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), and the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) were also widely organized, contributing to fostering patriotism and national pride among all classes of people.

Community cultural vitality

Cultural activities do not stop at major events. In the first 6 months of 2025, the Provincial Museum and President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site opened regularly, welcoming 15,892 visitors to learn about the history and people of An Giang. This is a testament to the attraction of cultural and historical heritages in the province.

The provincial Cultural and Arts Center has also made constant efforts, organizing 2 art programs, performing 94 art shows, screening 101 live and online films, serving about 88,000 viewers. These numbers show the diversity and wide accessibility of cultural activities to the public. Organizing an art troupe to participate in the National "Singing from Lotus Village" Mass Art Festival in Nghe An and the Revolutionary Songs Mass Art Festival in 2025 in An Giang, contributing to promoting the image and culture of An Giang to friends inside and outside the province. Mr. Le Van Dung (residing in Vinh Te ward) excitedly said: "The province's art programs have reached this border area, people are very excited. This not only brings joy, but also strengthens solidarity in the community".

Along with artistic activities, the Provincial Steering Committee for Family Affairs and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" have actively guided the implementation of the awarding of the titles "Cultural Family", "Cultural Hamlet", "Typical Commune, Ward, and Town". These are practical actions, contributing to building a healthy and progressive cultural environment in the community. The field of sports has also achieved many remarkable successes. The whole province has organized over 148 mass sports competitions, attracting over 54,000 athletes to participate and a large number of people to participate and cheer. "I see that the sports spirit of An Giang is growing. People participate not only to compete for prizes, but also for joy and health" - Mr. Nguyen Huu Tinh (amateur athlete) shared.

Looking back at the first 6 months of 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of An Giang has excellently completed its tasks, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the province.
