Experience from the point unit
“In 2025, Division 10 will meet the standards for building a training unit for KTCĐBB in CSM training, including 5 companies achieving “3 explosions” (shooting, setting off explosives, throwing grenades) well. The experience drawn from Division 10 is that leadership and direction for building a training unit must be comprehensive, in-depth, and specific; implementation must be methodical, scientific , and mobilize the combined strength and internal resources of each unit,” shared Colonel Ho Sy Chien, Political Commissar of Division 10.

According to the Political Commissar of Division 10, immediately after being selected by the Party Committee and the Command of the 34th Corps as a training site for KTCĐBB, the Party Committee of Division 10 issued a resolution on leadership in building KTCĐBB training sites in CSM training in 2025. The Division Commander established an organizing committee and an agency of the organizing committee to direct and deploy the unit to carry out the task of building a site; established 30 KTCĐBB inspection teams from division to battalion level. Conducted a survey of the current status of CSM training units as a basis for determining criteria appropriate to the specific situation of each unit, adjusting and supplementing cadres and materials, and training models. In particular, priority is given to comrades with capacity, qualifications, and training experience in building point units and priority is given to supplementing training materials for shooting, grenades, and explosives for CSM training units, ensuring 100% new and sufficient according to targets and norms.
Studying at Regiment 28 (Division 10), we noted that the unit launched a wide-ranging political activity, conducted education to raise awareness and responsibility for Party committees and commanders at all levels, and built high determination and consensus among all officers and soldiers about the tasks, significance, and importance of building a KTCĐBB training center. Promoted the role of organizations and applied many forms and measures to influence the thoughts, determination, and actions of soldiers.
Every month, Party committees and Party cells review and evaluate the results of leadership in building model units, point out shortcomings, causes and responsibilities, and at the same time determine targets and measures for further leadership following the motto "5 clear" (clear people, clear work, clear responsibility, clear time, clear results). Review the level of task completion of cadres and Party members, link the results of building KTCĐBB training points of the unit, consider this a top important criterion to evaluate the level of task completion of cadres and Party members. Regiment 28 has many good models and practices such as: "Two friends progressing together", "Cadres training and practicing with soldiers"; movements: Registering the determination to "Get 10 points on each target" in shooting tests; "Strive to pack and install in under 12 minutes" in explosives testing and "Strive to hit the red flag ring" in grenade testing.
For a military unit like the 273rd Tank Brigade, KTCĐBB training is not a strong point, but with high political determination and many creative ways, the Brigade has met the criteria for building a KTCĐBB training point, with a company achieving "3 good explosions". Colonel Nguyen Dai Hung, Brigade Commander of the 273rd Tank Brigade, said that in order to improve the quality of AK submachine gun shooting lesson 1, the Brigade has focused on checking and classifying the level and key movements of each soldier after each training session and live ammunition shooting. The units are directed to provide each soldier and squad leader with target images No. 4, 7, 8 (printed on A4 paper) to mark their contact points after each training session and live ammunition shooting.
From there, practice, learn from experience, and choose a separate method for each soldier according to the motto "focus on training weak points". As for grenade throwing, the 273rd Tank Brigade increased extra-curricular training for comrades with weak throwing power by pulling rubber bands and throwing practice grenades into 3m high mounds of earth to increase arm strength...
The point unit must make a comprehensive effort.
During the AK submachine gun shooting test, lesson 1 of CSM, Sergeant Trinh Xuan Thi, Squad Leader of Squad 5 (Platoon 10, Company 11, Battalion 3, Regiment 48, Division 320, Corps 34) achieved a perfect score of 90/90 points, contributing to creating confidence and motivation for Company 11 to achieve "3 good explosions". According to Sergeant Trinh Xuan Thi, this is not a random result or "luck" but a serious, methodical, and scientific training process of the unit and himself.
In particular, Company 11 is the unit chosen by the Party Committee and the Command of Regiment 48 as the training point for KTCĐBB, so right from the training of CSM training officers, Regiment 48 has placed the cadres in the position of CSM for training and practice. During the training process, the Regiment requires all instructions, orders, and requirements for soldiers and cadres to be proficient and good. Particularly, squad leaders must convey, guide practice, demonstrate movements accurately and be able to correct and correct soldiers. "Every cadre always has two parallel processes: self-training, self-improvement and the process of organizing training for soldiers", Sergeant Trinh Xuan Thi shared.

Colonel Nguyen Trung Hieu, Commander of Division 320, said that pilot units must make comprehensive efforts. However, the efforts, determination, political responsibility, and capacity and training methods of the cadres play a decisive role. Therefore, after selecting pilot units and adjusting the cadres, the Division focused on training, fostering and training the cadres, especially squad leaders and platoon leaders.
The entire Division organized 5 training courses for 346 CSM training officers and the results were 100% satisfactory, over 90% were good and excellent. At the same time, it promoted political and ideologicaleducation , created an environment and motivation for the cadres to self-study, self-train and set an example in educating and training soldiers; applied the models: "One on one", "Commander closely following the soldiers", "One content per week", "BB KTCĐBB Team", bringing high efficiency in training the Border KTCĐBB.
Major General Tran Cong Duc, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the 34th Corps, affirmed: “The results achieved in building the KTCĐBB training unit have correctly assessed the leadership, direction, and implementation capacity of the Party Committees, Party organizations, and commanders at all levels; the constant creativity of the Corps cadres when educated, motivated, and inspired in the spirit of “7 dares”. Many good models, creative and effective ways of doing things will be popularized and replicated in KTCĐBB training for CSM in the coming years. Thereby, contributing to improving the training quality of the Corps, meeting the requirements and assigned tasks”.
