In the past few days, we have been at the shooting range to watch new soldiers of Battalion 1, Regiment 738, Long An Provincial Military Command test the “3 explosions” (shooting live ammunition with AK submachine guns, throwing grenades, and setting off explosives). These are training contents close to actual combat, requiring new soldiers not only to have a firm grasp of theory but also to practice their bravery and skills.
Although they had spent nearly 3 months on the sunny and windy training ground, the technical movements had been practiced well, but the moment they held real weapons, real explosives, and real grenades in their hands, all the new soldiers were nervous, some were a bit worried. In the waiting area, the soldiers lined up neatly, received ammunition, and prepared. According to our observations, some soldiers were a bit nervous during the preparation. But when they started shooting live ammunition, the soldiers were quite confident, performed correctly, and finished the shooting session with good technique, with quite high results.

Soldier Ha Dinh Minh Hi, Company 1, shared: “In the previous two practice shots, I only got an average score, but this time, I got 80 points, so I am very happy. This result is thanks to the unit commander's dedicated guidance and experience in learning from mistakes during the training process. I myself also try to practice more after hours.”
Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Thach That, Commander of Regiment 738, said: “To achieve high results in the “3 explosions” inspection, we thoroughly instructed the units to closely and synchronously deploy solutions; focusing on safety measures. During the training process, the team of officers and commanders must always closely follow the unit and be responsible in each training session; closely grasp the thoughts of new soldiers to promptly handle and resolve arising situations, helping the troops feel secure, confident, and strive to train to achieve good results.”
After completing the “3-explosion” test, the soldiers all changed their mindset: from shy to confident, from hesitant to decisive. This was the result of a serious learning and training process not only in skills but also in cultivating the personality, qualities, and mettle of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, helping the soldiers confidently enter the advanced training phase.
