Mr. Luu Vinh Tien, Station Chief of Dong Luat Forest Protection Management Station (the first person) patrols and protects the forest.

Born and raised in the mountainous area of the old Thach Thanh district, Mr. Tien understands the significance of forest protection work for the people's lives. For that reason, right from junior high school, Mr. Tien dreamed of becoming a forest protection worker. After graduating from high school, he registered for and was admitted to the Faculty of Agronomy, now the Faculty of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries (Hong Duc University). In 2009, after graduating from university, Mr. Tien was assigned to work at the Thach Thanh Protective Forest Management Board and worked at the Thanh Van Forest Protection Management Station.

With his youth and enthusiasm, Mr. Tien has strived to overcome difficulties to successfully complete the assigned tasks and has been recognized and commended by the leaders of the Thach Thanh Forest Protection Management Board. In 2018, Mr. Tien was honored to be appointed as the Station Chief of Thanh Van Forest Protection Management Station. In June 2022, Mr. Tien was transferred to Dong Luat Forest Protection Management Station.

Dong Luat Forest Protection Management Station is located in Thanh Vinh commune. The station is responsible for managing and protecting 738 hectares of forest, including more than 500 hectares of natural forest and more than 238 hectares of production forest of many households in the commune. As the station chief, Mr. Tien has coordinated with local authorities to promote propaganda and mobilize households to contract for forest planting and protection, participate in forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting. At the same time, he has developed and implemented many solutions to manage and protect the forest area assigned to the station. Actively coordinate with functional forces, strengthen inspection, supervision, and strictly handle violators of the Forestry Law.

In addition, Mr. Tien also guides households contracted to protect forests, afforestation techniques, and take care of planted forests. He mobilizes many households to develop a comprehensive economic model and connects with many units to purchase products for farms and households in the commune. To improve the productivity of planted forests, Mr. Tien has mobilized socialized capital to build a 200m2 nursery, equipped with high-tech equipment to provide households with quality seedlings.

Mr. Luu Vinh Tien, Station Chief of Dong Luat Forest Protection and Management Station, said: “The forest area assigned to the station for management and protection is very difficult and tiring to travel to. However, the station still arranges forces to regularly patrol and protect the forest. During hot weather, when forest fires are likely to occur, the station is on duty 24/7 to detect and mobilize forces to promptly handle forest fires. Although the work of forest management and protection is hard, and the working and living places of the station staff are still lacking, with a love for the job, the station staff are always united, striving to overcome difficulties to complete the assigned tasks well; actively helping households develop the forest economy, increase income, and improve their lives.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of forest protection solutions, the area of protective forests and production forests managed by Dong Luat Forest Protection Management Station is safely protected, without forest fires. The newly planted forest area is cared for according to technical procedures, growing and developing well; the income of people contracted to plant and protect forests has gradually increased. Currently, the contracted households have built 10 models of agro-forestry production forest planting, bringing economic efficiency and creating jobs for many local workers.

This result has the role of Mr. Luu Vinh Tien. With his contributions, Mr. Luu Vinh Tien has been awarded many certificates of merit from various levels and sectors. Recently, he was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment for his achievements in forest management and protection.
