Entering a teacher training college with that dream score can be said to be a joy not only for new students and their families, but also for the country.

Attending and co-chairing the conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year and deploy tasks for the 2025-2026 school year, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the country is setting many development requirements. To realize that, high-quality human resources are needed. That responsibility falls on the shoulders of the education sector.

However, the bad news was also provided by the Prime Minister himself: The whole country is lacking 102,097 teachers at public preschool and primary schools, while there are about 60,000 assigned positions that have not been recruited.

There are many reasons for the shortage of teachers. Partly because there are not many students who are interested in the teaching profession. It is also possible that the supply does not guarantee the quality of recruitment. In the general situation, Thanh Hoa is no exception. In the summary report of the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training said that the teacher resource is still difficult, including teachers who do not meet the requirements. This content was also mentioned in the summary report of the previous school year.

Teaching is a noble profession, but the treatment of teachers was not high at one time. On the other hand, the rise of many economic and technological professions in recent years has created great attraction for excellent students. For a long time, people often said "Only rats running in the same cage can enter pedagogy", then despite the innovation in enrollment and changes in teacher recruitment policies, the teaching profession still does not have a strong enough attraction. Only about ten years ago, many pedagogical majors had a benchmark score of less than 20 points/admission combination. Recent preferential policies of the State such as free tuition and living expenses support for pedagogical students have helped stimulate enrollment, but have not really created a fever.

Information on teacher training enrollment in recent years has brought positive energy. In the previous school year, Hanoi Pedagogical University 1 reported that up to 300 students who won national and international prizes registered for admission. Another figure is the admission benchmark for some majors at teacher training schools in the Central region in the highest group of university admission majors. In Thanh Hoa, Hong Duc University's teacher training majors also have benchmark scores from 25 to over 28.

This year, the fever of entrance scores is no longer just for technology majors such as artificial intelligence, computer science or international economics and foreign economics majors of schools such as the University of Science and Technology, the Foreign Trade University, but the new pedagogy major is mentioned the most. The entrance score for English and Chinese Pedagogy majors of the University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Hue University are both absolutely 30/30 points. The History - Geography Pedagogy major of the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) also has a benchmark score of approximately 30. The benchmark score for Chemistry Pedagogy major of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, History Pedagogy major of Hanoi University of Education is also above 29 points... This brings a positive signal about the future education picture.

In theory, that’s true, but in reality, there are always things that few people think about when artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly replacing human resources in many industries. AI teachers are not just a story of the future, but currently there are many AI applications serving teaching. And, the negative aspects in the educational environment that have lasted for many years cannot be solved in a day or two.

Education is taking us through a range of emotions. It is fun but not necessarily worry-free. Therefore, the education sector and teacher training colleges must not only teach professional knowledge but also focus on cultivating personal qualities, because teachers are not only the ones who impart knowledge but also the ones who inspire, arouse passion, motivation, and belief in students, teach students how to be human, and play a key role in creating high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of the country's innovation process as set out by the Prime Minister.

Passing this "gate" is as difficult as the students who scored 29 or 30 points to pass the "gate" to become new students of many pedagogical majors.
