On the evening of September 21, search forces of Do Luong district ( Nghe An ) were still trying to find the missing female student who was swept away by the flood.
According to initial information, at around 2:00 p.m. the same day, a group of three female students rode two electric bicycles from Lam Son commune to Boi Son commune. When they reached a flooded section of the road, one female student stopped her bike and did not dare to cross, while two female students on one bike continued to pass.

When they reached the middle of the road, the two female students suddenly fell off their bikes and were swept away by the water. Upon discovering the incident, people nearby swam out and saved one of them, but the other went missing. The missing female student was identified as Nguyen Thi Th. (8th grade student, residing in Dong Tam hamlet, Ngoc Son commune).
By the evening of September 21, search forces had only found the bicycle, but had not yet found the female student.
