On September 2 (the last day of the National Day holiday), bus stations were empty, while many routes leading to and from the gateway to the capital were clear and traffic was normal.
According to the reporter's records at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, at Giap Bat Bus Station, the number of vehicles from provinces and cities pouring into the station is continuous but not too crowded. There are still some empty seats on the bus.

Outside the entrance, a team of motorbike taxi drivers and technology drivers enthusiastically welcome passengers to go home, and the number of buses going to and from many communes and wards of Hanoi city also "carry" a large number of people. Traffic in front of the bus station is not congested thanks to the functional forces dividing the lanes, ensuring traffic order and safety.
A representative of Giap Bat Bus Station said that today the station's operating capacity is 430 buses, with about 7,000 passengers arriving/departing. Compared to normal days, the number of buses increased by 109% and is equal to the same period last year. The bus station has not had to use extra buses because it has not reached its operating capacity (1,150 buses/day).

“The number of vehicles from the localities is continuous, spread over many time frames during the day, so there is no congestion. In recent years, on holidays, the number of passengers has decreased significantly compared to previous years because people choose to travel by private vehicles, contract vehicles or convenient vehicles,” added a representative of Giap Bat Bus Station.
According to the leader of My Dinh Bus Station, on the last day of the holiday, the station had 780 arrivals/departures, with about 8,000 passengers (an increase of 167% compared to normal days).
“Because today is the last day of the National Day holiday on September 2, the number of passengers arriving at the station will be higher this afternoon and tomorrow morning. The bus station has also increased staff at the entrance and exit points and coordinated with the Traffic Police, Traffic Inspectors and Ward Police to ensure traffic order and safety in and outside the bus station,” added the leader of My Dinh Bus Station.

Preliminary statistics from Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company show that on September 2, three bus stations including Giap Bat, My Dinh, and Gia Lam will have 1,960 vehicles arriving/departing with a total of 18,000 passengers (an increase of 179% compared to normal days).
On Giai Phong Street, Ring Road 2, Phap Van Gate, and Ring Road 3 on the elevated route, the traffic volume is high but only gets congested when waiting for the red light. The number of vehicles pouring in is increasing. Traffic police are present at the branch point to Ring Road 3 - Thanh Tri Bridge to regulate and guide traffic to ensure no traffic jams at the gateway to the capital.

In the afternoon from Phap Van to provinces and cities via Phap Van-Cau Gie expressway, the traffic volume is not too crowded, traffic is stable, no congestion.
According to a traffic police officer on duty at the Giai Phong-Nuoc Ngam Bus Station intersection, on the last day of the September 2nd holiday, traffic at the gateways to Hanoi was relatively smoother and more open than initially expected. The reason was that many people had returned to the capital earlier to avoid congestion on the last day of the holiday, and this year many people stayed in Hanoi to attend programs celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd.
