Data from the Ministry of Education and Training on the 2024 high school graduation exam scores shows that more than 1 million candidates took the math exam in the 2024 high school graduation exam. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Education and Training, the average math score nationwide is 6.45, higher than last year's average (6.25).
According to Thanh Nien Newspaper's analysis of the high school graduation exam scores in math of each locality, Nam Dinh is the province with the highest average math score in the country, 7.26 points, slightly higher than last year (7.13 points). Thus, for many years, Nam Dinh has led the country in average math scores in the high school graduation exam.

Because this year's average score is higher than last year's, the number of provinces with an average math score of 7 or higher is also higher than last year, with 3 provinces: Nam Dinh, Binh Duong , Bac Ninh, last year there were only 2 provinces: Nam Dinh, Binh Duong. Ho Chi Minh City "almost" achieved an average of 7 math scores (6.98).
Compared to last year, the list of 10 provinces with the highest average math scores has not changed, with only a few changes in order: Nam Dinh, Binh Duong, Bac Ninh (last year 7th), Ho Chi Minh City (last year 3rd), Vinh Phuc (last year 4th), Ninh Binh (last year 8th), Thai Binh (last year 7th), Ha Nam (last year 5th), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (last year 10th), Hai Phong (last year 9th).
From the bottom up, Ha Giang continues to be at the bottom, with an average math score of 4.58 (last year it was 4.32 points). This is also the only locality with an average math score below 5. Last year, the provinces with an average math score below 5 were Cao Bang and Son La, this year the average scores of these two provinces are 5.10 and 5.24 respectively. But the order from bottom up of all three provinces remains unchanged.
The whole country has no candidate who scored 10 points in math in the 2024 high school graduation exam.
The 4th position from the bottom is still Dien Bien like last year. The list of 20 provinces with the lowest average scores is basically the same as last year, only the order changes slightly between some provinces.
However, Tuyen Quang has made a leap, from 11th from the bottom last year (5.5) to 22nd this year and with a very encouraging score (6.09).
