Nabatieh City after being attacked by Israel
The Israeli military carried out a series of airstrikes on the southern outskirts of the Lebanese capital Beirut this morning, claiming to have hit a Hezbollah weapons depot. The move came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a ceasefire proposal with Hezbollah. Netanyahu affirmed that Israel would not agree to any demands that did not allow Tel Aviv to establish a buffer zone on Israel's northern border, nor prevent Hezbollah from rearming. Meanwhile, the governor of Nabatieh province (southern Lebanon) Howaida Turk said that yesterday's Israeli attack killed Mayor Ahmad Kahil of Nabatieh city.
Hezbollah also announced yesterday that it had launched a series of rockets at the city of Safed, northern Israel.
