“Red Rain” becomes the first revolutionary war film to surpass the 400 billion VND revenue mark

“Red Rain”, the most popular film of this occasion, officially surpassed the 400 billion VND revenue mark on the morning of National Day, September 2, becoming the first historical and revolutionary war film to reach this revenue level.

According to information from Box Office Vietnam, as of 7 p.m. on September 2, the revenue of “Red Rain” reached more than 426 billion VND from all cinemas nationwide. Currently, “Red Rain” is the most popular film, selling out tickets in most systems and cinemas nationwide. Many audiences were unable to buy tickets at prime times because the tickets were sold out long before the movie started.

With a revenue of 426 billion VND, “Red Rain” has officially entered the Top 5 highest-grossing films in the history of Vietnamese cinema. The film’s daily revenue has reached around 50 billion VND per day.

“Red Rain” is a fictional film inspired by the 81-day and night battle at Quang Tri Citadel , produced by the People's Army Cinema, directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen. This is the third film with the theme of revolutionary war to be released commercially in theaters, after the pilot case of “Peach, Pho and Piano” in early 2024 and “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark” released on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The film features many young artists, some of whom are making their first foray into cinema, but it has brought a lot of emotions to viewers. Characters such as Cuong (Do Nhat Hoang), Hong (Ha Anh), Ta (Do Nhat Quang), Hai (Nguyen Hung), Quang (Steven Nguyen), Tu (Nguyen Dinh Khanh), Tan (Tran Gia Huy), Sen (Le Hoang Long)… are all mentioned in many discussions on social networks.
