The second side is called “National Spring”, symbolizing the joy of the whole nation on the bridge connecting the past-present-future when the country enters the Spring of Independence - Freedom - Happiness.

Painter Nguyen Thanh Tung, representative of the organizing unit, said: The verification to complete the dossier on the work submitted for recognition of the record "The largest large-scale, unassembled lacquer painting in the world ". This is an honor not only for the author - painter Chu Nhat Quang, but also a common pride of Vietnamese lacquer art.

The completion of the painting has created a new milestone in the world of lacquer art.

Up to now, the work "Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence" is the largest continuous lacquer painting in the world and has many meanings when associated with the historical event of the Vietnamese people and completed on the occasion of celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.

Painter Thanh Tung, representative of the organizing unit, said that the completion of the certification of the work and the recognition of the record in the coming time will affirm the position of Vietnamese lacquer on the world art map. That recognizes the creative efforts of individual painters, and at the same time affirms the inheritance and development of a unique traditional art of young contemporary Vietnamese painters.
“This is the message that the author and his collaborators hope to spread to international friends about the heroic history of the nation, about a country that loves peace and possesses a unique and creative fine arts culture, capable of contributing to the treasure trove of human quintessence,” shared artist Thanh Tung.
According to artist Luong Xuan Doan - Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, there have been many paintings depicting the image of President Ho Chi Minh, but the work "Uncle Ho Reading the Declaration of Independence" has brought a new approach, originating from the feelings of the 9x generation. Artist Luong Xuan Doan commented: "The work has shown the style, personality and appearance of Uncle Ho through the creative lens of youth. The soul and spirit are still present, but interpreted according to the spirit of today's generation".

The most noteworthy point is the effort of artist Chu Nhat Quang and his young colleagues. Accessing and processing historical data, which is very complicated, is a big challenge, but it is also an opportunity for the young generation to affirm their mettle, dare to experiment and innovate. The responsibility of young artists in reflecting contemporary life is to both stick to history and immerse themselves in life, feel the reality of the country today to create. Only then will the work have enough power and emotion to touch the hearts of the public.
With the work being verified for recognition as a Guinness World Record, the President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association considers this to be great news. Painter Luong Xuan Doan affirmed: The young generation thinks differently, paints differently, and does things differently, which is the beginning of a positive transition in fine arts. The theme “Independence Spring” as the name of the exhibition in which the work is being displayed is a complete message in itself, without much explanation. Viewers only need to let their eyes and hearts feel it.

At the ceremony, artist Chu Nhat Quang shared about the process of creating and completing the large-scale lacquer painting “Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence”. He said that this was a challenging but also extremely meaningful time. Since 2019, the artist has received special support from his family, especially his brother-in-law - artist Nguyen Thanh Tung in researching materials, the creation process and testing recycled materials into lacquer.
For 6 years, artist Chu Nhat Quang has been accumulating historical documents and collaborating with researchers and historians to find a new direction, combining traditional and modern materials. It was an arduous process, because to create a large, monolithic work, every detail from architecture, background to artifacts must be precise and strictly follow lacquer techniques.
Chu Nhat Quang said that there were times when he had to temporarily stop working to update, adjust, and supplement sketches of his work based on new discoveries from historical documents. To create a large-scale work, there were times when Quang faced great difficulties in transportation and construction when the background of the painting weighed tons. It was the support of his family, friends, and colleagues that helped him to continue steadily.

Artist Chu Nhat Quang said, when the work was completed on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, I felt an incomparable happiness. Through the work of art, my colleagues and I want to express our deep gratitude to history, to the generation of ancestors who built the independence and freedom of the nation.
Artist Chu Nhat Quang also revealed his creative ideas for the future. He is preparing to start a series of portraits of President Ho Chi Minh and historical events of the nation. For him, art is always associated with the responsibility of preserving historical memories and spreading the Vietnamese spirit to the world.
