Ensure project progress and quality
The project to renovate and upgrade DT.183 has a total length of 36.5 km, invested by the Provincial Project Management Board for Construction Investment with a total capital of nearly 300 billion VND. The project is designed according to the standards of a grade IV mountainous road, with a roadbed width of 7.5 m; asphalt road surface of 6.5 m; sidewalks on each side of the road 0.5 m wide; high-grade A1 road surface, 7 cm thick asphalt concrete on crushed stone aggregate base layers; construction of 7 new reinforced concrete bridges, repair of 3 bridges; longitudinal and transverse drainage systems and traffic safety auxiliary works.
The project started in April 2023. To date, DT.183 route has completed most of the key items. On the Km17-Km50+200 section, the entire 32.7 km of road surface is paved with flat asphalt, the new bridge connects the banks. Currently, the contractor is focusing on speeding up the construction progress of some remaining works, the volume is estimated at 95%. On the 3.81 km long section from Cao Street, Dong Yen Commune to the border of Luc Yen, it has also been 100% completed. The total planned capital allocated for the project until 2025 is more than 201 billion VND, reaching 67.1%.
Comrade Luong Van Doan, Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, said: Despite many difficulties in site clearance, weather, capital and materials, the investor and contractors are still persistent, making efforts and determined to ensure the progress, quality, techniques and standards of the project. The total construction value has exceeded the allocated capital plan. In addition to mobilizing human resources, vehicles, overtime and additional construction shifts, the Management Board will coordinate with agencies and units to complete the project-related contents as soon as possible.
The path of faith and desire for change
These days, along Highway 183 from Dong Yen, Tien Yen, Xuan Giang, Bang Lang to Quang Binh communes, everywhere is bustling with joy. After many years of waiting, the vital traffic route has been upgraded and expanded, bringing with it the belief and expectation of change for the ethnic people here.
Mr. Hoang Van Lam, Tinh village, Xuan Giang commune shared: “Previously, the road was degraded, many sections were severely damaged, making it difficult for vehicles to travel, wasting time and money. Now the new road is spacious and flat, making it convenient and safe for people to go to the market, go to work, and students to go to school. The new road opens up opportunities for trade, commerce, and economic development, and I believe that people's lives will become more and more prosperous.”
Along with the increasingly synchronous transport infrastructure system, the DT.183 route is an important "push", creating momentum for local development. Comrade Tang Trung In, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Bang Lang commune, commented: "The commune has potential and advantages in agricultural commodities associated with community and ecological tourism. Therefore, the trade route will help the commune more clearly plan the development orientation of production, services and tourism; attract businesses to invest; find markets for agricultural products, create more jobs, increase income and improve people's lives".
In addition, the road helps shorten the distance between communes from Tuyen Quang to Lao Cai , forming an inter-regional connection. This is the key factor for localities to implement the program of building advanced new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State.
