Previously, the Football Association of Thailand lost a lawsuit against a very large media corporation in the Land of the Golden Pagoda. The Thai court required FAT to compensate the aforementioned media corporation for nearly 300 billion VND (this debt does not include the amount that FAT borrowed from FIFA to build facilities, related to the community football development program).

This lawsuit concerns the activities of FAT under former President Somyot Poompunmuang. When billionaire Nualphan Lamsam (commonly known as Madam Pang) took the chair, she had to shoulder the above debt on behalf of FAT.
To pay off the debt, Madam Pang, in addition to spending her own money, also launched a campaign to sell T-shirts to Thai football fans, hoping that they would join hands to help Thai football overcome difficulties.
This weekend, the T-shirt sales campaign launched by FAT and Madam Pang officially took place. In addition to Thai football stars such as Chanathip Songkrasin, Teerasil Dangda, Weerathep Pomphan, Madam Pang herself is also the model for her shirt sales campaign.

Thailand's Siam Sport newspaper commented: "The shirts are sold with the aim of sharing the power of belief among Thai football lovers. This action aims to help Thai football overcome the crisis and move towards a brighter future."
T-shirts issued by FAT have two main prices including 350 baht (about 284,000 VND) and 450 baht (365,000 VND).
In addition to financial problems, the professional level of Thai teams also shows signs of slowing down. Thai football has made little impact in international tournaments in recent years.
Notably, in the most important tournaments in the region, including the AFF Cup, SEA Games and the U23 Southeast Asian tournament, the teams of the Golden Temple country currently do not hold any trophies. The AFF Cup and U23 Southeast Asian championships are currently in the hands of the Vietnamese teams, while the SEA Games men's football championship is currently in the hands of U23 Indonesia.
