Notably, in Duc Cuong hamlet (Thinh Duc commune), the water level was nearly 1.5 meters deep, causing more than 30 households to fall into a dangerous situation, many families were isolated in the midst of rapidly rising floodwaters. During the night, social networks continuously appeared with urgent "help" posts from people. The heavy rain occurred unexpectedly in the middle of the night, leaving many households unable to react, water flooded into their houses in a split second.

In the face of the emergency, implementing the direction of the Military Region 1 Command and the local Command for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, the 382nd Artillery Brigade quickly deployed forces and vehicles to the scene. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phuc Quyet, Brigade Commander, and Colonel Do Khac Long, Brigade Political Commissar, were present to command at key points.

Accordingly, Brigade 382 mobilized nearly 300 officers and soldiers along with many rescue vehicles such as: 8 Kamaz military trucks, 8 ST-1500 motorboats, hundreds of life jackets, lifelines, flashlights, generators, high-capacity pumps... Special mobile teams were established, ready to respond to any emergency situation.

At Duc Cuong hamlet, the deepest and most dangerous flooded area, officers and soldiers of the Brigade coordinated with local forces to organize an emergency evacuation of households. The elderly, children, and sick were carried across the rapids to safety. The soldiers did not hesitate to immerse themselves in the cold floodwaters, stretching lifelines in the middle of the stream to maintain a stable position for the motorboats to operate safely and securely.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Phuc Quyet, Brigade Commander of Brigade 382, ​​said: "We believe that helping people in natural disasters and calamities is an order from the heart. The entire unit will always be ready to carry out rescue missions regardless of day or night, weather, for the safety of the people."
