The 2025 AVC Nations Cup (formerly known as the AVC Challenge Cup) is the premier national team tournament in Asia, bringing together strong teams that did not participate in the VNL tournament such as China, Japan and Iran. This year, the men's event will be held from June 17 to 24, 2025 in Manama, Bahrain.

The tournament has the participation of 11 teams, divided into 4 groups as follows:

  • Group A: Bahrain (host), Indonesia, Thailand

  • Group B: Qatar, Australia (Kazakhstan withdrew)

  • Group C: Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, Philippines

  • Group D: Vietnam, Korea, New Zealand

In the group stage, teams compete in a round robin. Points are awarded based on the score: a 3-0 or 3-1 win is worth 3 points; a 3-2 win is worth 2 points; a 2-3 loss is worth 1 point. The top two teams in each group advance to the quarter-finals, while the remaining teams compete in rankings from 9 to 11. From the quarter-finals, the winning team advances to the semi-finals and then to the final, while the losing team competes for positions 5–8.

Qatar are the defending champions of the tournament after defeating Pakistan 3-0 in the 2024 final. Vietnam performed impressively last year and finished the tournament in 6th place.
