Accordingly, after 2 years of implementation, the contest received 498 entries, including 412 short stories and 86 novels by nearly 300 authors, including professional and non-professional writers, workers, civil servants, students, the elderly and overseas Vietnamese. From there, the Preliminary Council selected 43 short stories and 18 novels to be included in the Final Round of the contest.

Next, the Final Council selected 13 short stories and 11 novels of the highest quality, meeting the contest requirements, to submit to the Steering Committee and the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for consideration and awarding.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, the special point of this year's Award Ceremony is that the Organizing Committee will not reveal the results in advance. The authors and winning works will be announced at the Closing and Award Ceremony taking place on November 26.
The literary writing contest on the topic of workers and trade unions is chaired by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, organized by the Labor Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Writers Association . The contest was launched on November 23, 2021, and will end on August 31, 2023.
The contest is an activity to concretize the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress: "Developing comprehensive human beings and building an advanced Vietnamese culture with strong national identity so that culture can truly become an endogenous strength, a driving force for national development and protection of the Fatherland"; implementing the spirit of the 2021 National Cultural Conference: culture must be placed on par with politics , economics, society, "culture lights the way for the nation", building an advanced culture with strong national identity. The contest is also one of the activities to implement Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on "Innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation".
To ensure objectivity and select works of artistic value as well as meeting the requirements of the contest, the organizing committee invited professional writers to participate in the Preliminary and Final Round Councils.
The list of authors and winning works will be honored at the Closing and Award Ceremony on November 26, 2023 at the Hanoi Opera House. The Closing and Award Ceremony is one of the important activities to celebrate the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union - to be held in early December 2023.
