Fire hydrants are installed in areas convenient for fire fighting in case of an incident. |
Phan Dinh Phung Ward is one of the typical examples of effective operation of the inter-family fire safety group model. The ward currently has more than 121,000 people with 29,000 households, of which 80% are service businesses. The shops sell a variety of goods, including many flammable items such as: fabric, groceries, leather goods, electronic components, etc.
Therefore, protecting property and life from the risk of fire and explosion is always a constant concern of the people. Outstanding in the fire prevention work in the ward is the model of Fire Safety Inter-family Group No. 1, Group 97. Using socialized resources, the group has built a public fire fighting equipment cabinet, a 300m long hose system and many other tools such as fire extinguishers, alarm bells, foam tanks, sledgehammers, pliers, etc.
In particular, households also equip themselves with additional equipment, ready to respond when an incident occurs. Mr. Le Van Tuan, Head of the Fire Safety Inter-Household Group No. 1, said: Being aware of the high risk of fire and explosion, 23 households in the group agreed to install fire prevention equipment. Since the establishment of the Fire Safety Inter-Household Group, people have felt more secure when doing business and living, and there has not been a single fire in the past 3 years.
From just one pilot model, Phan Dinh Phung ward now has more than 170 fire safety inter-family groups. This number shows the consensus and positive response from the people.
Mr. Tran Dinh Thin, Vice Chairman of Phan Dinh Phung Ward People's Committee emphasized: The model of inter-family fire safety groups in many groups in the area has shown clear effectiveness. In the coming time, we will continue to propagate and mobilize people to understand the importance of establishing inter-family groups, participate in training sessions on the use of fire fighting equipment, and at the same time encourage the replication of this model.
Not only limited to one ward, the whole province now has more than 900 fire safety inter-family teams. This is the result of close coordination between local authorities and the police force in propaganda, guidance and training skills for the people.
Mr. Le Van Tuan, Head of Fire Safety Inter-family Team No. 1, Team 97, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, skillfully operates fire fighting equipment. |
In fact, the fire safety inter-household teams are not only equipped with fire protection equipment but also trained in the use of fire extinguishers, water hoses, and escape skills in case of an incident. From there, each household becomes a “fire safety soldier on the spot”, ready to coordinate in handling emergency situations.
It can be seen that the model of inter-family fire safety teams is not only a practical solution in preventing and handling fire incidents but also contributes to raising awareness and responsibility for fire prevention in the community.
The effectiveness of the model in Phan Dinh Phung ward and many other localities in the province shows that fire prevention is not only the responsibility of the authorities but also the duty and right of each household. The spirit of "self-management - self-prevention - self-protection" has turned small houses and shops into strong links in the fire prevention network of the whole community.
