Kubo is sought after by many clubs. |
Everton are reportedly keen to strengthen their wingers in the summer transfer window, with Real Sociedad's Japanese winger Takefusa Kubom emerging as a top target. The Goodison Park outfit are reportedly willing to pay around €30m for the 24-year-old.
If the deal goes through, Kubo will become the most expensive Japanese player to join the Premier League, breaking the record held by Wataru Endo, when the midfielder joined Liverpool for €20 million.
Kubo started out at Barcelona's famous La Masia academy before moving to Real Madrid. However, he did not have much opportunity to show his talent and was continuously loaned out to different clubs in La Liga.
It was only when he joined Real Sociedad that Kubo truly found stability and rose strongly. To date, he has participated in nearly 150 professional matches, with important contributions in goals and assists, becoming one of the key factors at Reale Arena.
Following the departures of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom, Everton were forced to refresh their attack. The imminent arrival of Thierno Barry to the forward line has made the need for a creative winger even more urgent. Kubo, with his technique, pace and La Liga experience, is considered a perfect fit for the Premier League environment.
However, Real Sociedad is not easy to give in. They will only accept letting Kubo leave if they receive an attractive offer.
