According to a VNA reporter in China, with its majestic beauty and special position, the Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) - Detian (China) - the first cross-border tourism cooperation area jointly built by Vietnam and China - has become an ideal destination, attracting a large number of tourists from both Vietnam and China.

Cooperation in tourism development here not only brings economic benefits, but also strengthens friendship between the people of the two countries.

Located on the Vietnam-China border, Ban Gioc-Duc Thien waterfall is over 60m high and hundreds of meters wide. The water from Quay Son river flows down, creating white silk strips, creating white foam amidst the majestic mountains and blue sky.

The unique feature of the waterfall is that the main stream does not fall in a straight line but is divided into many limestone layers, creating a beauty that is both wild and soft.

In the middle of the waterfall is a large mound of land, covered with green trees, dividing the flow into 3 separate branches, creating a rare natural picture, making this place an unmissable destination for Vietnamese, Chinese and international tourists.

To develop tourism at Ban Gioc-Detian waterfall, the Chinese side has implemented many effective measures, focusing on diversifying experiences and improving service quality.

The first is the development of synchronous infrastructure. China has invested heavily in transportation infrastructure, building resorts, restaurants, and modern shopping centers around the waterfall area. This not only meets the needs of tourists but also creates a complete “tourism ecosystem”.

The second is to diversify tourism products. Besides admiring the waterfall, visitors can also experience other activities such as boating on Quay Son River, watching traditional art performances and participating in folk games.

Organizing festivals and cultural events regularly also contributes to attracting tourists, prolonging their stay and increasing spending.

Third is the application of technology. Mobile applications, multilingual automated commentary systems and electronic ticketing systems are widely used, making it easier for tourists to plan and experience their trips.

Speaking to a VNA reporter in China, Ms. Nong My My, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Sports , Radio and Television of Daxin District, Guangxi, China, said that since the Ban Gioc Waterfall-Detian Cross-Border Tourism Cooperation Zone officially came into operation, China and Vietnam have continuously expanded exchange methods in many fields such as culture, arts, sports and goods.

The two sides have successfully organized many China-Vietnam cultural exchange activities, including the Ban Gioc Waterfall-Detian Cross-Border Run and the 2025 Daxin Half Marathon; the Vietnam-China Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition; the Folk Song Competition and the program "Mountains to Mountains, Rivers to Rivers, Humanities and Mutual Support - Vietnam-China Cultural Exchange Promotes People-to-People Connection..."

Through these activities, a solid social foundation and public opinion have been established for cross-border cooperation, effectively promoting deeper integration in culture, sports and tourism between China and Vietnam, and deepening the friendly relations between the Chinese and Vietnamese people.

In recent years, the two countries have implemented many measures to promote cooperation in tourism development at Ban Gioc-Duc Thien waterfall, contributing to the continuous increase in the number of visitors to this area, especially international visitors.

The implementation of joint tours and simplification of immigration procedures have created favorable conditions for tourists from the two countries to easily visit both sides of the waterfall.

Ms. Nguyen Trang Thi, a tourist from Da Nang (Vietnam) shared: “This is the first time I have come here, I feel the beauty here is very majestic and poetic on both sides of the waterfall. On both sides of the waterfall, one side belongs to China, the other side belongs to Vietnam, I feel like two hearts are beating as one, helping to connect the friendship between Vietnam and China."

The success of Ban Gioc-Duc Thien waterfall is not only the success of a tourist destination but also a symbol of cooperation and common development between Vietnam and China, opening a new chapter for border tourism in the future.

With the open-door policy and bilateral cooperation, tourism activities at Ban Gioc-Duc Thien waterfall are becoming more vibrant than ever, contributing to promoting the recovery and growth of the tourism industry of the two countries, especially border tourism./.
