The overall picture of the industry and trade sector in the first half of 2025 shows that industrial production maintains stable growth, the domestic goods market is well controlled, supply is adequate, and there is no shortage or unusual price increase.
According to Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Le Anh Duc, in the first 6 months of 2025, the industrial production value in the province is estimated to reach VND 9,710 billion, up 8% over the same period in 2024. This figure shows the solid recovery of manufacturing industries after a difficult period, especially after market fluctuations and high raw material costs. The two sectors that play the main driving force for industrial growth are processing and manufacturing (up 8.3%) and electricity production and distribution (up 10%).
Trade promotion activities and connecting supply and demand of goods are promoted.
Faced with the prolonged impacts of the global supply chain and climate change, many businesses in the province have proactively reviewed their production models, reduced costs, increased management efficiency, and restructured their product portfolios to better suit market demand. Particularly in the processing and manufacturing industry, many businesses have focused on technological innovation, investing in modern production lines, optimizing productivity and product quality. As a result, products such as: wood pellets, processed seafood, Kraft paper, plywood, ready-mixed concrete, exported shirts, etc. all have high growth rates from 10% to nearly 70% compared to the same period last year.
“In addition to traditional industries, the contribution of new industrial projects invested, built and put into operation since the beginning of the year has significantly contributed to the overall growth results. These projects not only improve production capacity but also create more jobs, promote consumption and ancillary services in industrial parks and suburban areas. Wind and hydropower production enterprises continue to be bright spots in the green energy development trend, contributing positively to budget revenue as well as ensuring energy security for the locality,” emphasized Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Le Anh Duc.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion provided advice and support for industrial promotion and local trade promotion capital for 21 units, with a total budget of 2.9 billion VND. Through this activity, many small and medium-sized enterprises in Quang Binh have caught up with the trend of digital transformation, applying technology in management, production, sales and customer care. E-commerce platforms, social networks, delivery applications, etc. are fully utilized to reach consumers faster and more effectively.
With stable industrial growth, abundant supply of goods and effectively controlled market, Quang Binh Industry and Trade sector is gradually affirming its pivotal role in local economic development and is ready to enter a new phase with the spirit of adaptation and breakthrough, contributing more effectively to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the homeland.
Director of the Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion Le Mau Khanh shared: “Currently, many cooperatives, agricultural and handicraft enterprises have built online brands, promoted products to markets outside the province and internationally, helping to increase consumption capacity. Along with maintaining traditional markets, many enterprises actively participate in trade fairs, connecting supply and demand, linking regions to expand distribution channels in major provinces and cities. Focusing on improving designs, applying quality standards, building brands and geographical indications helps products “made in Quang Binh” increasingly affirm their position in the domestic and international markets”.
Commercial activities in the province continued to operate stably and smoothly. In the first 6 months, the total retail sales of goods and commercial services were estimated at over 33,000 billion VND, an increase of 12.6% over the same period. Businesses in the fields of accommodation, catering, and tourism have made efforts to innovate services, improve service quality, and expand types of experiences to suit the current needs of tourists. At supermarkets, shopping malls, and retail agents, goods are displayed in abundance, diverse, and of stable quality. Essential goods are fully supplied, without shortages or unreasonable price increases. This is a testament to the proactive management and market regulation of the Industry and Trade sector, along with close coordination between local authorities, market management forces, and the distribution system.
