Speaking at the opening ceremony of the District Culture, Sports and Tourism Week 2024, Chairman of Tua Chua District People's Committee Luong Tuan Anh emphasized: Tua Chua is a locality with great potential for developing cultural and ecological tourism such as community tourism models, typical culinary culture of ethnic groups; OCOP products; exploring the Da River reservoir; experiencing market tours, night markets; experiencing and exploring caves, admiring terraced fields, rocky plateaus... In recent years, Dien Bien tourism in general and Tua Chua district in particular have developed, becoming an attractive destination for tourists. Tourism is gradually becoming a key economic sector of Tua Chua district, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, successfully implementing the province's goal of tourism development by 2025, with a vision to 2030.
The 2024 Tua Chua District Culture, Sports and Tourism Week takes place from October 16 to 20 with the following activities: Volleyball tournament, women's football tournament for the "Shan Tuyet" Cup; ethnic sports competitions; Mong flute performance contest and traditional costume show of ethnic groups in Tua Chua District; rice cake pounding contest, corn grinding contest to make men men; art program to open the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week; culinary competition; Red-whiskered bulbul singing contest; new rice celebration of Mong ethnic people and fun and experiential activities.
On the opening night, delegates, locals and tourists enjoyed a special art program consisting of 13 singing and dancing performances with the theme of the colorful highlands, the beauty of the rocky mountains, Tua Chua - a meeting place connecting all directions. At the same time, they joined hands to form a circle of solidarity, watched the fireworks display to welcome the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week, and visited the booths displaying OCOP products and local specialties.
